My one friend built a Krinkov (AKS-74U) as a pistol. He is currently waiting for his Form 1 to be approved to he can attach the side folding stock.

That's going to be a mean weapon.

If alphabet get wind of this, Russian surplus may be banned?

Did I say he built it as a pistol? I meant to say he thought about building it as a pistol but decided to wait until his Form 1 comes back so he can build it as an SBR :emb:

I think so long as no major manufacturers are importing or manufacturing 5.45x39 pistols that there will be a steady stream of sweet, sweet surplus ammo.

Wow...color me surprised, I get to go do a job at Springfield Armory next week!

My boss called me yesterday and told me I have to go out of town for a two day job next week...he told me it was in Geneseo Il...

A few min later he informed me it was "right up my alley" and told me it was at Springfield Armory... (most of the guys at work know I'm an avid shooter)

I cannot tell you how excited I am! More than likely it will be nothing big but I really hope I can convince my contact to give me a mini tour of the facility or something. I'll post more info on this next week....hope its good news.

Been meaning to pick one of those up for some time. Debated over whether or not I should get a PSL in order to have a more modern gun in that caliber.

Who do I need to kill to get a PKM?

RGUNS has a similar deal where you get a Mosin and 440 rounds of ammo for $140.

Hope you guys have C&R licenses cuz then you can have these rifles shipped straight to your home.

And I'm back...wow...

I'm not even 100% sure where to start. First off, this place is difficult to find, to say hey keep things "low key" is a understatement. Their buildings are darn near 100% unmarked, if you don't know where you're going, you'd probably never find it.

My contacts were great to deal with...as were the other employees. After yammering on with them for some time I gathered they are all really happy with their jobs give or take.

I went to two of their locations, one where they make, assemble their M1 line and their 1911's. At this same location they also handle repairs. It is surprisingly small but busy and clean. The countless racks of M1's and 1911's made me feel like the kids in Willy Wonka when the enter the candy forrest...

I happened to see a rack of 250 EMP 9mm which about made me squirt my pants...wow...

I then went to the XD building where they repackage the XD/XDm line. They also house all of the promotional/firearm gear as well...an ocean of it...it was SA swag as far as the eye could see.

As you would expect they were balls to the wall...shipping out handguns by the hour at a crazy pace. Again, the stacks of XD/m cases amazed me...

Now...for the fun part. While I didn't get to shoot anything (I didn't even ask). They did take care of me. I landed up doing some extra work for the IT guy for free so I made mention of a hat or something. He replied with "Don't worry, I'll get you a care package set up."

That "care package" consisted of a box full of stuff so large it too up the entire front seat of my van. he showed up with it and plopped it down on the ground...I stood there in amazement. Here's some of what it had in it:

-4x SA T-shirts (assorted)
-1x long sleeve SA T-shirt
-5x SA hats (assorted)
-2x gun cleaning mats (one XDm, one Socom II)
-2x tin signs (SA "shooter", SA cannon logo)
-Full sized SA banner
-Insulated ceramic/stainless SA coffee mug
-SA Golf towel
-8x can cozies (4 XD, 4 SA)
-SA Mousepad
-SA roll around mobile cooler
-SA cannon logo zippo lighter
-Large assortment of stickers and window decals

I about crapped my pants when I opened that box...not only is that the best swag pack I have EVER seen...that is the coolest company I have ever received one from...WOW. I have a pic of this stuff on my phone but I need to transfer it to my PC, I'll post it up later. They also let me buy a hoodie at cost...amazing...

Finally, I travel with my XDm and happened to mention to my contact it had never locked the slide back on empty. He asked me if I travel with it to which I repled "Always." he answered back with "Good man, bring it in and I'll have it looked at." They fixed it that day, gave me three new magazines to place the ones I had. No charge.

I have a book worth of stories to tell but I just don't have time at the moment. One neat thing, I was talking with their director of sales and I happened to mention a .357 SIG XDm...she replied with "Hmm...actually that has never come up in development meetings...I wonder why? I'll have to bring that up net time. We make it in the XD line, possibly we should bring it to the XDm line as well."

Cool beans...I strongly doubt it but possibly I'll ge tthe .357 SIG XD, someday afterall...with out having to buy a .40 and conv barrel.

Well...one of the hats I gave to my pop...two I'm keeping for myself...one is an ass ugly old man real tree hat and the other is an even uglier "waxed" canvas hat that is simply too ugly to sport...

Now...PM me your address and I'll send you a few stickers (no, this is not open to everyone...)

Well fuck...

I don't do this often but this time I have to go with my gut and actually have a conscience this time...

Springfield Armory sent the owner of the company I work for some papers from their lawyers threatening to sue both he and I about that picture of their logo I posted. Needless to say, it wasn't pretty. My boss was less than pleased with me.

All of this over a fucking shot of their logo on a wall...a logo you can find damn near anywhere...

Initially I refused to sign it telling my boss that SA told me of no such policy. I refuse to have legal action threatened against me because of some double secret probation rule they did not make me aware of, post via signs anywhere on their property or have me agree to on paper (which is something other companies do BTW).

My boss basically told me to sign it or get the fuck out and that had I not been on of his top techs, he would fired me stating I should have "known better".

Obviously I signed it...

To say I'm furious about this company literally making a mountain out of a molehill would be one of the largest understatements I have ever made in my life. I was contacted by their IT guy 2 weeks ago about the oh-so-awful pic and I immediatly took it down, less than 24 hours after having posted it int he first place. I called the contact back the next Monday and he told me it was no big deal and thanks for removing the pic. That was how the conversation ended.

Nearly 2 motherfucking weeks later they decide to send the owner of my company legal threats.

Why in the name of shit would they do that?

Either way...if those motherfuckes want to attempt to cost me the very thing that provides me with money to buy shit with their logo AND they have a hard on about their logo so much...

They can fucking keep it.

EVERYTHING they gave me with be out of my fucking home within a week or else it will go in the trash. EVERYTHING. My XDm will be gone in no more than a month and those cock suckers will NEVER see a dime of my money again.

I still cannot fucking believe those assholes did that...over a fucking logo...

Let others know about this outrage.

When Colt was caught getting cozy with the antis, many colt owners just sold their shit in disgust at very "motivated" prices.

Right across America their sales took such a huge hit and they've smartened up since then...but I'd say the damage is done.

Fuck them and fuck SA.

Fuck that shit dude. I was interested perhaps in a few products from the SA line but I will never purchase on of their products after how they treated you. That's bullshit.

Glock 17 :emb:

Smith and Wesson M&P?

Head the M&P is good but haven't shot one. I like my G17...mostly for the price. I have a G17 RTF2 - I like the aggressive grip texture but my experience with handguns is limited.

They're still a good firearm...don't let the asshattery turn you away from putting one on your list. My 9mm XDm has, thus far, been one of the most reliable and accurate out of the box semi auto handguns I've ever had or shot. It's so nice, nearly every time I've taken anyone out to shoot and we "apples-to-apples" my XDm and their Sig/Glock/FN/S&W/Ruger/etc, the XDm comes out on top. It has a great factory tirgger (unlike the playskool Glock trigger) and is really accurate.

My dad may have talked me into keeping my XDm...not sure yet. He told me they already have my $$, why cut off my nose to spite my face by getting rid of a pistol I love. I can tell you one thing though, I refuse to advertise for the fuckers. I 100% am getting rid of all of their shit.

It's all gone save the tin SA logo sign...people were like vultures around a corpse when I said i was giving that shit away...

As for the sign...their precious logo...I have plans for it. It will be abstract art by the time I'm done with it.
