Due for release March 17th in NA, March 19th in JP, and March 20th for EU.

All I keep reading is how FF Type-0 is the best Final Fantasy spinoff since Tactics.

Bold words, I look forward to seeing if it's true.

Despite all the praise I decided to pass on this one since Square has been on my shitlist for awhile. I may pick up a copy eventually if it drops in price though and reviews continue to look good.

I am looking so forward to playing this. Between Type-0, Persona 5, FF XV, and Xenoblade Chronicles X, this could be an incredible year for RPGs (assuming the last three come out this year, I know full well any or all might not).

There's also a fan patch for the original PSP version.

Taking a pass, I'll wait until it's cheap based on principle.

I'm still salty about the fact that it's not coming to Vita.

I'm cautiously optimistic. Probably more excited for the XV demo.

The ball was seriously dropped on this

"The Vita has no games!!!"

This would have gotten some folks to pick up a Vita

I still preordered this

I will not miss ANY recent FF game, and I have already played the heck out of GTAV. GTAV on PC is just icing on the cake. Will I get it? Probably, just to see the improvements, but not too hyped.

lol, the XV demo was terrible. Horrible frame rate, ugly and pointless open-ish world, and uninteresting combat.

I've only just started Type-0, but I'm really liking it so far. It really is just a PSP game slapped on the PS4 and Xbox One though, low-res textures and awkward presentation and all. But at least it's fun and interesting.

I have to 100% agree with you here. I just got done playing the demo and it fucking sucked, IMO.

The combat was terrible, the gameplay was slow, too reliant on stamina meters to be fun or engaging and the parry system is garbage.

Honestly, SE. If you want to make a fucking action game, make a fucking action game. If this is what we can expect out of FF XV, I am really really let down.

And keep in mind, I LIKED XIII. That tells you how low my bar was set.

The only things I liked were Cid(ney)'s character design and I thought Deadeye was a really well rendered behemoth.

WTF is up with quests not being available the next day if you make camp? Are they fucking kidding?

I have rage right now. Rage like...you don't even know. I thought it couldn't get worse than Lightning Returns and now I'm having a harder time deciding which one was a bigger waste of my time per capita.

The real joke is on those idiots paying $30 for a demo code off of eBay. I literally cannot comprehend why someone would do that. $30 for a 2-3 hour demo? At that point, just spend the extra $30 to get a complete game with it.

I am so depressed right now that I am going to hold my guinea pigs for about fifteen minutes and hope they cheer me up.

Agreed, the XV demo isn't that great.

It's pretty in stillness, but once things start to move around...ugh.

Atleast Type-0 is pretty awesome so far.

Regarding the FF XV demo, from Digital Foundary's analysis:

As it stands, this particular demo produces perhaps the lowest level of performance we've seen in an Xbox One game to date.

The PS4 version isn't great, tech-wise, either, but it's stronger than the XB1 version by a fair margin. Ouch all around though, as has been noted.

Type-0 has surprised me somewhat- it started off really poorly, IMO (the narrator talking and various other "tell don't show" instances), but after getting into it I like it a lot. The story is decent (especially if you know the FF XIII lore), and the gameplay is excellent after learning how it works. Boss fights, in particular, have been awesome.

It looks like shit and the blur effect when you turn is stomach churning, but neither is a deal-breaker.

Early build, but from playing the demo it has potential in all areas mentioned. I wasn't expecting awesome visuals in such an early demo. The combat has the most potential IMO.

The problem with the P word is that we see this with demos all too often. This was an opportunity for SE to put its best foot forward and they took those $400 Jpop Boy Band boots and stepped right into a pile of shit.

Truck stops? Run down RVs? People walking around dressed like they're from Arkansas? Ohio stretches of highway? And then you have these four assholes walking around all tatted up and dressed in black and nobody is even looking at them funny.

As if that weren't bad enough, navigating the countryside was boring and slow, the combat was sluggish and bogged down with stamina bar mechanics despite inviting you play the game in a more active fashion, their incessant and constant stupid 'playful banter' that somehow passes for comraderie and the irritating and pointless erasure of quests if you camp.

Here's my main beef: SE knew that this demo would be the veritable olive branch to the market that they've been needing to extend for some time. It's naive to say 'well, we're just going to release this demo so fans can get a taste of what's to come' when SO MUCH is riding on this product's appeal. All I see here is more bloated hubris and failure.

I'm not arguing with you, mind you. You're cool peeps in my book. We're just talking about a game.

But this demo sucked.
