Not to sound like a jag, but I think it would help to have a background color that contrasts a little more the characters in back. Billy especially gets a bit lost with that blue. And maybe a smaller texture to push it back a little more. Just suggestions...take them for whatever they're worth.

I like how blue flows from back to front through chracters. Good color cordination.
Maybe a white drop shadow or outter glow for the chracter layer? It looks good just as now though.
