Please forgive me if this isnt the ideal place to post this question

What is the difference between....

Fatal Fury Special

and

Real Bout Fatal Fury Special?

Also which is the better game and why?

I want to purchase one of them and wondered which is the better of the 2.

Fatal Fury Special is the 3rd game in the Fatal Fury Series.
Real Bout Fatal Fury Special is the 6th game in the Series.

Both very different games, and too subjective to call one better than the other.

Fatal Fury Special has a four button system.
:A: =Light Punch
:B: =Light Kick
:C: =Hard Punch
:D: =Hard Kick

(:A: :B: )=Moves Forward a line. (Plane Shift)
(:B: :C: )=Moves Back a line. (Plane Shift)

Real Bout Special has a three Button system.
:A: =Punch
:B: =Kick
:C: =Special
:D: =Line Sway Backward
:D: + =Line Sway Forward

Character Rosters are different. Music is different. Graphics are more updated in Real Bout Special.

I think you mean plane shift. Line sway is where player stays on the same plane as the opponent but dodges the attack by swaying to the left of the attack.

PLane shifting is where you actually see the player jump towards the background and vice versa.
