If you read the press release in full, it seems more their argument is that Fatal Fury is the greatest fighting game franchise of all time, even though they clearly stated Fatal Fury, the first one, is the greatest fighting game of all time.
Based on the context though, it seems implied it is the franchise overall getting the GOAT distinction.

Fired up the game and played Krauser today. Good enough times.
The thing that really shocked me, however, was the UI facelift. Vast improvement overall from what we had before. They added a whole new story mode focusing on Krauser but I have yet to try it. This isn't EOST but something completely different. Nice to see that they are still working to make this game better and better. Now we just need to get that DeLorean announcement.

So we get Krauser, we get Kenshiro, and then... this. Really not what I was expecting. I would have been more than happy with just Robert, or just Ryo, or good old Mr. Karate (serious or not), but...

I think I would have rather had Ryo too.
I'm not surprised that it isn't Takuma.
Look how much older Mr Big is and how grey Robert's hair is now.
These characters have aged quite a bit and Tak... Might be dead.

In addition to Rick, Franco, Hon Fu, Xianfei, etc. I pretty much would love to see every character from the franchise return including Iori (real ones know

Hopefully, Robert will drive onto the stage in a Delorean. Otherwise, fuck this game.
Seriously, I know people are complaining about Robert in a Tengu mask but come on...it's Robert. I definitely hope they use his AoF 3 music in the game and not just as part of this reveal trailer because that track is a fucking banger.
