Definitely AI stink all over that trailer.

Great character additions though, so I'm overall happy with it.

I would like someone to point out the AI.
There is some scenes with realistic characters, like those "What would be like if KoF chars were real by AI" videos on youtube.

Jae Hoon appears and is exact like those videos.... Mary poses.... The result was lazy, there's nothing new that was not on youtube already, basically.

The rest can't say because didn't see much yet.

I wish they made a game where Krauser looked like that in the real game. That's the kind of UE5 game they should be making so people can finally stop complaining about the graphics.

btw, the likes for your post are just thanking you for replying.

It is really hilarious that they just revealed three new good characters, and all people can focus on is marketing that no one will remember in a month. Social media, as usual, is the real failure.

I'm actually glad that's the case, personally. It's cheap and tone deaf. We shouldn't give them a free pass on this garbage...or any company for that matter

This is legit just a "blond woman on a motorcycle in the rainy city streets at night" image prompt.

Maybe even using Blue Mary as a base? But I know some generators are better/worse than others with established and licensed characters.

Most of us here with a baseline level of AI prompt making could probably make this same thing in a few tries.

Do I personally care? Yes and no.

AI has its uses and I'm fine with it in artistic applications if done well, but if it's lazy and sloppy like this then it's a big ugly food stain on a clean shirt and it stands out bad.

It won't stop me from thinking these are great additions and I'm excited for them, but AI slop like this in creative mediums is lame as hell and people/companies need to be shamed for it.

Folks who get outraged anytime AI is used anywhere are going to have a rough life considering the way the world is moving. Because of their bloody life, it's no accident that they are involved in the troubles.

Nah, fuck 'em - AI "creative" can fuck right off into the sun, I don't care if the "world is moving" there.

You know, I work at an IT company with many developers, and it is now industry standard to provide an AI assistant for programming, despite the more recent caveats that management has added about being mindful of what it spits out. We are moving forward with AI assistants for all developers, which is where the industry has moved. Not sure how the indie game awards will feel about it, but you can bet that AI will be used to help with coding (maybe they only care about AI art).

You're making yourself a Bad Takes target here and I'm not sure why.

Generally, people aren't upset over AI anytime it is used as I believe most people understand its time-saving applications, but they get specifically upset in creative mediums and especially when it looks like lazy shit.

You're failing to see the distinction we have with AI for practical use vs creative use.

They should have just used game footage since it seems they had plenty of it.

That said, I don't care about the trailer or its quality. I know what characters are coming and that's all I need to know.

At the end they talk about two characters in the shadows and then show us Kain's mansion. I'm starting to wonder if Grant isn't one of the two characters, now. Depends on whether or not that's a tease or just a coincidence.

No, in my post I mentioned, "maybe they only care about AI art," so I asked specifically about that distinction.

I'm the furthest thing from an artist, myself. I'm not very observant person, and I know I'm far from the only one in the world, so I'm giving my 2 cents and speaking for us unobservant fuckers here. I've got outrage fatigue.

Sure, if it was AI art in the game itself, it would be a whole different story, but deploying it as a tool for marketing when they've already blown so much on marketing for a game that didn't sell well, I can't get too worked up about it.

When I saw Mary on the bike, all I felt was excitement for Blue Mary finally being added to the game. I'm not having all these negative emotions everyone else was apparently feeling.

I'm in IT as well, and I'm fighting tooth and nail to keep AI out of things as much as I possibly can.

I do get the benefit for helping with data crunching and programming, but for making visuals and sound, it's total lazy garbo that takes way from human talent. It's pretty jarring to see SNK use high quality hand-drawn animation for their teasers and then plop down AI-slop for the actual announcement.

Anywho, ignoring the shite trailer, I'm super happy to see these four characters in the game and I'm eager to give them all a spin.

Safe bet SNK will be doing a one-character-a-month release this year, which makes sense if they're going to fulfill their promise of basically bringing all of the Fatal Fury roster back. Would take 10 seasons otherwise.

After all the traditionally animated shorts they dump this reveal with AI is what's got me mad.
The time, talent, and money are obviously there.
Why drop the ball like this?

If they're allocating more money to more characters and less to advertisement then I'll take a lazy trailer.

They stopped making those because the game sold poorly of course.

I didn't take any note of it. To be honest, I barely watch these trailers, so you can guess how invested I am.

And social media is not good with nuance. So if someone gets wind that AI was used just for programming (not the art) in a game, people on X will just take that ball and run with it.

An interesting theory is that they threw this together with AI to try to get ahead of the leak. Didn't they introduce the characters one at a time each with their own trailer in season 1?
