I had like no time to play all last week, but thankfully will today--it's a solid romp.

The game makes me want to go back and dive into other FF games since it's been a bit going through all those.

If you don't think the spin off continuation that MOTW obviously was meant to be, then no.
RB2 was the last FF game.
On the Neo. Then there's Dominated Mind, Wild Ambition, First Contact and MotW. Anyway the sentence was made with MotW in mind. Wich i love but doesn't have that double lane, hard hitting 90s street vibe of FF.

Take an hour to beat the map with any character and it opens up the South Town + Map - There's not a new story, but all events in the normal map are open for full exploration and the difficulty rises dramatically. It's nothing mind blowing, but the CPU at high difficulty is actually competent and gives you a safe space to try out what you've been sussing out in the Lab before jumping online.

Going through EOST is also the only way to play against Nightmare Geese and Fallen Rock, if I'm not mistaken? Nightmare Geese in South Town + (Terry's final boss) is a lvl 90, hard as fucking balls, SNK boss to end all bosses. He's no fucking joke.
Fallen Rock is the boss of the only two arcade modes I've finished so far, Rock and Terry. Arcade mode is my favorite so far because it advances the story.

Dominated mind (vomits) is pure garbage and if I had a time machine I would go and make sure it never existed.
If you gave me a single shot pistol and presented me with Stalin and a copy of dominated mind I would shoot dm three times.

I wouldn't count any of those as mainline FF games

Gotcha. I've completed Arcade mode only with Hokutomaru, but I've gone through EOST with both Hoku and Terry. Terry's EOST story follows the aftermath of the secret scrolls and has some great tidbits of story I highly recommend checking out - especially how the relationship between Terry and Billy has evolved since Geese death. Gooby, sure, but still cool. :)

Hidden in case you want to discover for yourself.

Spoiler:
Fallen Rock is also Billy's boss but Marco's boss is Vox

Andy looks cool! Mostly Real Bout 1 inspired by the looks of it.
  • HP Hishoken is the big burst (looks very much like it does in RB1)
    • Now he can do air projectiles that arch downward.
  • Zeineken now has a sweep follow up it looks like.
  • Has his RB1/Dark Andy (RBS) fire kick.
  • Has the choke hold command grab.
  • While underutilized in the video, at the 2:10 mark Andy clearly has Akuma like Demon Flips that more than likely have one or two follow ups.
  • REV Blow is Andy's two part dive from KOF 96 onward
Excited to get my hands on him - looks like a bunch of fun!

Finished E.O.S.T with both Mai and Terry. Fun mode but it can get brain numbing dull if you do too much at once. Unfortunately, none of the unlocks are all that cool. I don't really feel like I'm working towards anything worthwhile with it other than seeing the stories conclude. Also did Arcade mode with Mai and that was fun.

Overall, I'm still having quite a bit of fun with it. If you're a person that cares about the history of the Fatal Fury franchise and its lore, there is a lot to appreciate here.

EOST+ is where its at.

Still more of the same, but the challenge gets real--plus you unlock new outfit patterns so that is a cool thing since they're actually rewarding play and not just spending money.

The final boss of + is also no joke.

Classic SNK bullshit boss shit there.

Finally played around with the Color Edit and it is fairly impressive:

I haven't had much time to muck with it.
Is it better than the one that came with KoF XIII?
More detailed for sure since they give you a lot of patterns to work with and you can edit the smaller details like stripes/accents and even the brightness.
