I guess him being a background cameo means he's not on the main roster which is a bit disappointing.

I was hoping he'd retain the badass makeover they gave him in KoF 13, but it looks like he's back to being to the goofy comic relief CvS2 version.

And that d-pad looks terrible. Plus, those tiny buttons give me flashbacks to the NShittyFour controller. Anyway, like I said, no gaming pc here, so if I was going to buy something just for this game, a console seems simpler.

It is pretty terrible. The D-Pad and buttons just don't have a satisfying feel to them and there's stupid triggers on the back of the unit too that are just not placed well.

I bought a Steam Deck two years ago and barely use it.

The whole is just overly huge for a handheld. It's like holding a giant plank with some flimsy analog sticks and buttons tacked on. And yeah, I have the dock at the ability to play it on my TV, but meh.

Talk about buyer's remorse.

Agree though, they should have gotten a Latin America voice actor for him, or at least anyone that can do a reasonably authentic Mexican accent.

In terms of stock first party offerings? Yeah, they pretty much all suck. Can't speak much for ps5, but the series X d-pad is hardly ideal for fighters, or really, any kind of use beyond menus. At least it's more usable than what was available on OG xbox and 360. I think I'd rather use a goddamn atari 2600 controller.

Trust me, the PS5's d-pad is the worst I've used since the Dreamcast. It has a mushiness to it that makes accurate inputs nearly impossible. It's OK for other genres, but for fighters you're better off with a quality fightstick.

Because people get tired of buying expensive fight sticks they can no longer use when the next generation of consoles comes out every few months. There is now an entire generation of heathen savages who have grown up using dualshock or xbox controller analog sticks for fighting games, rather than d-pads, much less sticks. The decline of western civilization.

Almost all modern sticks have pretty much been USB with multi console support for almost 20 years now and adapters are common and cheap. I've literally been using the same HRAP4 for a decade on 3 different consoles and PC.

But yeah it's a sad state, especially when devs are making babies first fighter options for pad players so that a single button spits out a combo or super.
