Anyone else going to see this trifle today or in the near future? Film, DLP, IMAX?

My excuse is I'm taking my younger cousin, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy the previous films. And I did not read the books.

I also want to see Walk the Line :annoyed:

Man, I never watched the 2nd one, I don't know why.

I have never read any Potter, I really don't like anything about it because of it's marketing and the annoying fanbase it has.

I was not interested in the movie at all, but it came on the Movie Network one Friday Night, and I said, why not?

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, it was very well done, and it wasn't cutesy or stupid like every soccer mom makes it out to be.

Go and watch it dude, don't even need your little bro, now the marketing blitz for Potter has taken over every Age Category, and there's 20-30 year old Men getting into it with no whiplash......yet.

I'm sure I will..My excuse will be similar to yours (taking the youngster to see it), but I think the movies are actually very well done and enjoyable.

The reviews for this new one are phenomenal.

I thought the 3rd was a step-up, but this 4th one is apparently the best so far.

Some are creditting it to having an actual British director (as opposed to an American or Mexican like the previous 3)

***Pissbreak spoiler help?***

What happens after Snape (sp?) confronts Harry about the seaweed? I went to the bathroom and came back when they were all in the middle of some sort of maze...

Actually, that's not racist, that's more like nationalist. They don't care what race you are, but you need to be a citizen of the UK.

nationalist, racist? some would consider it the same thing. if i am watching

shindler's list, should steven spielberg insist the entire cast to be jews? with the

exception of few, the principal cast is all british and poppus rowling got what she

wanted because of her power over the potter movies, the woman is wealthier

than queen of england

Whoozajiggawha-?

I read the first four books back in 8th grade, that was it. Really liked them, my favorite was the Goblet of Fire.

I think all the movies are shit, except for the first one. I can't get over how god awful that phoenix looked in the second movie. As for the third movie, I thought it moved way too fast...couldn't enjoy it.

Cho Chang is adorable.

It's sad when I admit this, but that character made me think: "Heh, I'd love to hear TonK's comment on this infatuation."

A few other non-spoiler notes:
  • In all four films, I've noticed that the student body of Hogwarts appears to have a dispproportionate amount of South Asians (Indian/Pakistani/etc)... are they just naturally better wizards or does the school also have an engineering school?
  • The girl playing Hermione is starting to look dangerously good.
  • Meanwhile, the kid playing Potter is starting to look a wee bit like a nerdy version of Elijah Wood... I keep expecting the eye of Sauron to appear in one of Frod--err, I mean Harry's dreams

The movie itself was great. I haven't read the books, but I appreciated how the story progressed a lot further in this movie than the previous three. The book fans had mentioned this one was going to be the beginning of the serious storyline. I can't necessarily pick whether this one was better or the third film. I'd have to think about it. As described in a review I heard yesterday on the radio, the fact that the director was a English public (private) school student himself really seemed to help portray the school as a far more natural place (in how students behaved).

England has alot of Pakistanies, Indians, ETC because of you know, the whole British Empire ruling those countries for a while.

Think about it bob. English only actors.

Its stupid buy my favorite character out of all of the movies is the stupid Quiddich announcer.

PS. Im seeing this at the IMAX theater in Channelside on the 30th.

fuck yeah.
