Exceed Attacks?

i've only been playing this game for a short time now and had just started to try out these 'exceed attacks'[so far with Mr Karate]. i can pull his exceed off just fine in Practice Mode when i set the exceed to infinity, but in normal game play i can't seem to get it to work.. i wait until he's at Max level and try but for some reason it just doesn't want to do the exceed.
so.. is there something you have to do first before you're able to pull off the exceed? i thought you just had to be at max level?

Exceed attacks have nothing to do with Power Stocks, you can only activate an Exceed when your health bar reaches red, and even then, you can only use it once a match.

In other words, think of it as SvCC's version of a desperation.

Yeah, what these guys said. You have to lose half your life first before you can do an Exceed, and you get one chance per match. Sorry for the redundancy, I'll even add something...I think your Name flashes also when you are eligible to perform an Exceed attack.
