It does exactly what you think it does: competently emulates old games on curated carts. Most of the carts are pretty run of the mill but there are some great ones, and personally I'm a big fan of all the carts that are full of homebrew games from classic systems. You can buy most of these games on physical carts on the old systems or on digital storefronts like Steam, but per game they're considerably cheaper on Evercade.

I like being able to actually support these developers while paying 20 bucks for multi-game carts rather than paying 80 bucks for one cart or 8-20 bucks per game for Steam or Switch versions.

The rest of the carts are mostly just generic packs of ROMs, but definitely look into the Duke Nukem 1 Collection cart. They completely remastered the first two sidescrolling Duke games and added smooth scrolling, stable 60fps, widescreen, rerecorded audio tracks, etc. Excellent updates and only on Evercade so far.

What he said. I like the VS a lot. The 8bitdo arcade stick works out of the box with it. That and the Toaplan carts are 100% worth the cheap price of admission. Plus some other solid carts.

I looked into it and it turns out different companies bought different chunks of the Data East library when the company died. G-Mode owns the Data East name and all the games on the new Super Pocket and the previous 3 Data East Evercade carts, while Paon has everything on the Windjammers cart.

They still could've come up with a better name than Windjammers, Karnov, and Friends though. Jesus Christ.

The last update enabled the Namco carts on the VS and VS-R. Odd to do so many years after release, but maybe it means they're going to reprint them and/or do another Namco cart.

All shipments from Funstock to the US are suspended and they are freezing all orders and preorders until the tariff shit settles down. Funstock is the supplier for all other stores that sell Evercade stuff, so in effect the entire Evercade ecosystem is suspended for American customers. Sellers can still move the stuff they have in stock right now, but that's it.

If they made the screens on their bartops a wee bigger I think they'd be cooler honestly. Roguecraft DX looks interesting enough to buy...everything else I don't care about. Cool to see the Neo Geo collections, but I've paid money for those games too much as it is.

Just such a stupid, stupid move to have an entire line of games on your platform designed for TATE mode, then release a bartop, then not make it so you can rotate the monitor 90 degrees.

You can play in vert mode on the handheld or the console, but not the fucking stupid overpriced arcade cab. Brilliant.

Regarding mouse support:
Any previously released games that originally supported a trackball, spinner, paddle, rotary, light gun, or mouse should now work with a USB mouse.

So this is a big help for the Atari Arcade 1 cart, which is mostly games controlled via one of the above methods.
