Besides using this to dump very specific carts (like protos or some rare weird stuff, cause everything else for the GB has been pretty much dumped) or your save, this thing is pretty much useless imo, it is just paying to use mGBA with shitty extra steps for no good reason. Also a bit of an odd news post, but whatever.

Hmm, I might be able to use this afterall since my old gameboy flashlink units from 20+ years ago (I miss Buy-Rite and Lik-Sang :() use parallel ports that my modern PC’s no longer have lol:

This new reader could prove useful to preserve my old gamesaves. The battery in my gameboy color copy of Metal Gear Solid has got to be on in its final days. I’d hate to lose my old stage records and ranks.

I’m afraid I’ve been in this hobby too long when even my old 1990’s rom dumpers and bootleg devices need updates :lolz:
