DS Lite now available at Walmart and Target?

Reports coming in from Cheap Ass Gamer indicates that many have been told that the official street date is being bumped up to today, June 1st.

Looks like since the cats outta the bag, they are going to go ahead and just release it.

Several have been told by Target stores that they will have them on the shelves at 8am this morning for sale when they open. Plus some of the EB/Gamestops having been saying the same thing. They get their shipments today and are going to go ahead and sell them.

I plan on stopping by Target on my way to work and see if I can snag one.


This is going to be a kick ass weekend if this is true.

I held out on buying one because I knew a revision is ALWAYS in the works for Nintendo's handhelds

so I get:

1) smaller DS

2) better screen

3) better ergonomics

4) a somewhat established library of games

They didn't have any anyhow though, at least not in the case. And Walmart basically told me the same shit. So since people let the cat out of the bag in the last few days and posted it all over the internet for everyone to see, now nobody else gets to get a DS Lite early. No big deal, I can wait.

Really the only losers were those who bought the original beastly GBA. The GBA SP (Second Purchase) is probably the best redesign ever.

I'd like to get a DS lite, but i'm satisfied with my DS right now.

It's like when I posted a thread in this forum a YEAR ago after seeing the GBASP with the new screens --- and said, "I'm not buying a DS until they release one with an improved screen ... clearly, the technology is available, etc."

I did, however, get one yesterday. At an upscale furniture store here in Utah... :chimp:
