While i do agree that loading times can have a lot to do with the playability of a game, i think too much emphasis is put on them. They are indeed very long (esp. considering i own the single speed version), but i am still able to enjoy games like KOF 98 and samurai spirits bushidoretsuden. If i could afford a cart system and converter i would get one, but right now this is all ive got.

It's a shame that Agetec edited the KOF conversions. What a lack of cojones.

Why didn't Agetec just go ahead and bring it over unedited? Blood all over Chang & Choi? That's nothing we haven't seen in other games (original Street Fighter III).

Regarding taking out Leona's earring bomb move- That is such bull. It hurts the game for Leona players and shows that Agetec lacks cojones. I think Agetec ought to hear some opinions via email or snail mail about this censorship crap. <IMG SRC="smilies/veryangry.gif" border="0">

Yes i agree. If you take a look at agetec's forums, there are tons of people who complain about the censorship. I think agetec censored the game though to make it a little more "pc" in this era of attacks against violent video games. After all, we wouldnt want some poor kid shooting up a school because he saw whip use a gun in KOF <laughs hysterically at how stupid that sounds>

Well, SNK might be to blame to the blood removal, having done with disturbing frequency in the U.S. versions of their games, but it was likely Agetec that removed the moves. I'll have to check later to see if the Heart Attacker has really been removed. (I think that's the correct name.)

Both earing bombs are present. I tested the move on both DC and PS today, and was able to do either with no trouble at all. Also, Whip's intro vs. Krizalid is intact in the PS version as well as the Dreamcast. It's only the actual gun attack that seems to be missing.

LOL, it's funny how all you guys are complaining about the load time. I was one of the first to buy the Neo Geo CD system with KOF '94 and it's no freakin' joke that the load time (especially w/a single speed) was absolutely ridiculous. it just takes the fun out of the whole game. why do you think most people who own the cd system is selling them? collecting is one thing, but loading is another. the dreamcast has a 12 speed cd and as proof, the more complex marvel vs. capcom 2 has almost no load time, so kof '99 is no sweat. does anyone know if the japanese version of kof '99 is censored? normally japanese versions aren't.

nope, the japanese version was not censored.i believe kof99 evolution has more load time than MVC2 because of the 'zoom in' stage intros.if those intros were taken out,the load times would be shorter or even non-existent.

As am I, and I assure you neither move is missing. I did both several times on PlayStation and Dreamcast.

Don't get the NeoCD version unless you're a hardcore collector. Don't get the PSX version either unless you either want the extras or you're strapped for cash.

I find the PSX pad hell to use. I can do a lot of motions on the DC pad that I could never pull off on the PSX pad. My gameplay drops like a rock on a PSX simply because the pad is very unresponsive. An inexperienced friend of mines has a fair chance against me on the pad because he presses hard on the pad when he does the motions. I'm too used to the Gamepad on the computer and the DC Gamepad... both of which were a lot more responsive to me than the damn PSX one.
