don't edit your selling threads to say "sold thanks, DELETE" etc...

For record keeping/search/feedback purposes, it makes sense to keep them intact and a clear message saying they are SOLD. I think its a mistake to edit your thread, take out all content, and say "DELETE please", etc. Just annoying...plus, it bumps the damn thing.

I agree, it also pisses me off when people delete the price after they sell it. Of course most people never puts any price and just write the usual "PM me an offer" bullshit.

So sorry, but sometimes people sell items that they have no idea on the value. Like the Mega-Drive games I'm selling/sold.

yeah, I agree, leaving the thread intact is the better choice, especially when it comes to leaving feedback.

edit: not to mention, I don't recall ever seeing one of those threads deleted.

While we are on the subject of selling threads:

- Why is it all these noobs can sell shit with like 4 post counts? I remember how "involved" I had to get for 100 posts, just to slang a MVS cart.

- Maybe there should be a dedicated moderator or just the selling threads?

- Many of us (myself included) are guilty of starting multiple selling threads. If somehow selling threads could remain editable for unlimited time, it would be more feasible/attractive for one thread per person.

- Some of the really really old threads could always be moved to an archive or such, to speed up search etc. I don't see the point of keeping a post around from 2001 regarding a KOF cart. Just adds to search times.

my 2¢ :)

I'm not saying everybody should always write a price, I know there's lots of situations like that, but there are a lot of case where people know very well how much they want to sell it for and just don't say it because they hope somebody offers even more. Or do shady "auctions" via PM. And complain about "lowballers".

In general, I think it's the seller who should say the first price. Reasons: it's them who have put if for sale in the beginning; they should know how much they paid for it; they know the exact condition the items are in...

Of course people have the right to do so and we play under the same rules, so let it be.

I totally agree with the premise of this thread. However Shawn has recently held on this issue such that we should treat the members of the site as adults and let them edit threads if they want to.

I don't fully agree because I've seen reason to believe otherwise.

I have sold a lot here and I agree with what has already been said. I try to leave my topic title intact and the content. Once sold, I just put (sold) as part of the topic title and put (sold) in the topic, but leave all the items/prices as they were.

I have been doing this, so people don't waste their time coming into my topic, when I am not offering any items. And, I do hate when people bump their topic to say delete or all sold. I mean, if the shit is gone, no need to bump it in front of people still trying to sell stuff.

I leave the prices alone in my selling threads for this reason. So other people can use them as a refrence. I'm sure the price jackers and resellers don't like this but I could really care less.
