In Art of Fighting 2, look near the left of Takuma's stage. Given that Butt started training at age 30 and is age 45 in Mark of the Wolves, the 30-ish student in the background could be him.

Still, I thought Ryo trained him not Takuma so maybe it's just a coincidence...

Damn that's a pretty late start on Martial Arts training. But seeing as how awesome he is in Garou: MOTW, he must be a prodigy/natural.

Y'know, I noticed the same thing about a week ago, NeoJedi. I would bet they got the basic design for the character from that BG. Makes sense. Why not go to the games themselves for inspiration.

I saw that too, it is pretty cool though. As far as who trained him most martial schools have 1 head master and at least someone in the red to black belt range that helps out teaching students. Takuma may own the gym, but it is likely that Ryo did help more w/ the training of the students.
