Instead of making new threads for each piece of spectacular Russian footage, I figured it might be nice to have one thread to reference and bump as necessary.

[EDIT: On later posts: I usually put the more "WTF" items at the top when I post several videos, more typical--but solid--crashes go towards the end; I don't post every video I find, just the ones that are somewhat 'satisfying'--some spectacular crashes happen in the far distance and just aren't as interesting on video]

In addition to Russians behaving stupidly:

Russians behaving really stupidly (cut to 1:36 mark):

Lesser Russian stupidity:

But why keep it in the former USSR?

Seriously: In the posts above there are cars encountering tanks, cattle trucks, and crashing jets and yet they still manage to generate completely WTF moments:

What I don't get is the ones where people straight up just abandon their cars.

I hope it's okay to post some non-dashcam Russian stuff here as well.

Here's a hilarious Russian ad poster for fireworks:

And here's a Russian synthesizer made in the early 80s, it's one of the strangest monosynth beasts I've ever come across:

Jexus' review text:

Jexus/WC Olo Garb said:
"What the hell?" exclaimed a friend of mine after entering the room and seeing the big black P. (not penis).

Yeessssss... it's aliveeeee!!! It's a live being. The sound is not what it's supposed to be judging by the position of the knobs. First: the scope of the knobs differs amongst individual Polivoks units. Second: if you listen carefully, you'll notice that the sound is constantly changing in a minimal, random fashion, even if you don't touch anything. Note that I'm talking here about the "real" Polivokses bought from the barns of smalltown Russian winos, not some mutants that have been overhauled and perfected in Western traders' labs.

Polivoks has the most crispy, harsh, overdriven, cruel, nasty and sharp filter human beings ever created. The synth sounds like a crazy alien bitch being raped and murdered (and apparently enjoying it). This is nothing you would expect from the American school, Japanese either. It has its own dignity and unique power, and it can do A LOT (patch-wise). If you ask me if the synth sounds original - hell yeah, most of the time like a hell guitar run thru a stomp box. But, fortunately, not all of the time, and should you wish to do so, you can push it in traditional and melodious directions.

But I guess we don't buy our Polivokses to get traditional sound out of it. It's one of the 5 most distinctive and inimitable sounds in the synth-world. Maybe it's not that phat (as you would expect by the size), but hey, it's POLIVOKS. The "Western world" calls it the "Russian Minimoog". Uhm... how should I put it... maybe like that: They have no fucking idea what they're talking about. I'd rather call the Polivoks the "Russian Odyssey". The rawness and crispiness of the tone, plus some specific modulation functions make it much more Oddy-ish than Minimoog-ish.

And yes, the quality of the sound depends on the serial number / date of production, but don't ask me about the order, because I don't know it :P

Listen to its wonderfully creepy sounds and see it in action here:

The video has been made by Jexus, a gifted musician from Poland who is a huge synth freak and released a large number of synthesizer vids on YT that became legends among like-minded people. I really love his vids and synth presentations that are a refreshing change from the usual YT synth review clips by guys who know a lot of synths but little about music.

Whelp... this compilation from last month has a lot of fresh new approaches to dash-cam disaster.

Oh wow, the one where the 18-wheeler jack-knifes 00:35-00:45 is in Las Vegas; On the I-15 Northbound just before Sahara Ave, you can see the Palace Station and Stupack's tower in the background.

I thought I recognized a Station casino in the background--wasn't sure which one. I stayed at that one ages ago with my ex-g/f and her family.

His parents should have bought him an Outrun or Chase HQ arcade cabinet instead.

This appears to be of a slightly older vintage (though it appears his camera clock was just not set), regardless I've never seen it before and it turns into total :buttrock:

There's at least a few new ones every day--I love it.

Is this some kind of vodka related issue?

This is a bus driver known as "The Punisher"

I know Reddit posted it under that title, but he's also called "the Teacher of Teachers" as a regular "teacher" is someone acting like an idiot (either for fraud or vindictiveness) and pulling in front of a slow-moving car to stop/slow down etc.

GoPros are a little fancier (and more flexible) than what a lot of these folks are using--there are plenty of cheaper versions of dash cams coming out of China that are used in Russia and available online.
