Daily Check: What shooters are you guys playing ATM?

bummer...how are the other CAVE ports on the PS2 (think there are 4, right?)
been thinking of getting a Japanese PS2 and a big reason is coz of those games

...should I steer clear?

Galuda and DOJ are pretty great. Arika kicked ass. Taito ports [ Ibara and the awful port of Mushi] should be avoided IMO.

well i personally think that Galuda is a great port...i just dón´t like the game(its system and flying people are not for me).
But you MUST get DOJ,is amazing.one of the shooters of my life
i remenber being disapointed with it the first time a played,maybe due of the hours spent on the first 2 Pachis of the series...but then its just grown into me.AMAZING game.I play it every week of the last 4 years.

wow, thats a pretty strong endorsement for DOJ.

Good to hear about Galuda too. I played Esprade before and thought it was cool, so i think I'll dig Galuda. Plus I prolly am playing Shikigami no Shiro 2 more than any other DC game right now and thats got flying people in it too

Been playing the PS1 port for the past couple of days. I hate those huge fucking sea-to-air missiles in stage 4 (that later re-appear in stage 6).

After the desapointment with Ibara(at least on Ps2),now its Gigawing Generations.what a lame shooter.can´t be compared to the great first game.
so it´s back to DOJ.

It does seem well suited for two player action, though.

Yeah it does, it's definitely fun 2 player. One of the few shmups I actually like to play with a friend :P

For some reason that game seems easy as hell to me, with some dedication I think I could ace it, however it doesn;t take away from the fact that it is a fun, inventive and gorgeous game.
