How are the caps?
Do you have an ESR meter to test?
When you turn the brightness down does it affect them?

I got it the other day, calibrated it the best I could, but haven’t opened it up. Brightness is turned way down and they’re still there. Maybe a bit better than this picture, but there nonetheless.

I’m fine to recap it and see if that helps anything though. I looked quickly but didn’t see a place that sells kits for this (14N6U). Any pointers there?

I’d start with caps, and then maybe adjust the purity ring, but almost always the caps.
A local friend recaps and services them, I’ll see if he has a cap kit. When I needed caps for my 8044q he had them.
