i saw that the pvm 2950qm sold for over 500 on ebay, i feel sorry for whoever bought it i just gave away my 2750qm because i was so impressed with my 20l5 i wasnt going to use it again. i managed to get a 20l5 for less than 100 couriered and an amiga 1081 with scart input for 80 just around the corner, but all of a sudden the pvms and bvms are selling for a fortune. i wouldnt wanna pay 200 plus for a 20 inch unless it had really low hours.

$100 shipped is a great deal on a 20l5. I would replace one of those with my 20M4A if I had the chance since it does 31khz.

Hey guys. I just picked up a PVM 2530 and wanted to ask a question about ventilation for this unit. I'm hard up for space, so I want to stack my PVM 20M2U on top of the 2530, but this would be over the venting slits for the 2530. Do the 2530s tend to generate much heat, could stacking be harmful to both monitors?

I actually picked up two 2530s, but they both need a bit of maintenance; I'm gonna try and sort things out, otherwise, I will probably ask here for help. Wish me luck.

Some JVCs, a BVM, an NEC Multisync 4PG. Don't mind the security monitors, I just liked the way they look.

I think you've crossed the line from "collecting" into "hoarding." Me jelly.

I think I'm done with PVMs now. I've had 4 die on me. The very first one I got is still going strong. But probably heading in the XRGB direction.

Anyone else have this problem?

In all honesty, if I had the room and they were plentiful around here, can't say I wouldn't do the same thing.

What's the monitor with the big green "play" button in the middle?

So cool. I'm starting to like setups with really weird 80s techno-sets for their looks alone, rather than going after RGB and the best picture quality.

So on the first 2530, the controls on the left do not work; reset does not work, only the + works for hue, colour, bright, and sharp, the sound controls do not light up or work at all. You can see in the picture below that the controls have actually been damaged:

PVMII 14.jpgPVMII 15.jpg

Thankfully, the controls on the right are fully functional and I seem to have gotten a decent picture out of the monitor by putting the picture setting as high as I could:

The guy I bought the monitors from said he had this one in a cab. Is there a way to bypass the physical controls to reset the picture? Would this be possible through the remote for the 2530?

The second 2530 appears to be completely functional:

However, I have noticed that the picture in both monitors are skewed to the left and there are black bars at the bottom and right of the picture. None of the exploration I have done with the buttons on the back has been able to stretch or centre the picture.Any tips on how to remedy this? Look at pic below and see that one life bar is all the way the edge of the screen:

See all that blue space at the right edge of the screen:

If things stay as they are, I'm relatively happy. But if you guys can provide any advice to optimize things, it would be appreciated.

I use them for games and art exhibitions, but yeah, it's gotten a bit excessive. I just can't resist buying them when I see them.

I check craigslist almost daily even though I should be satisfied with 2 I have. Gotta fight the urge :loco:

Especially when I see one for a nice price.

With the 2530's your H/V size and position are likely pots (i.e. internal physical adjustments, though usually easy ones).

That blue border is from the Genesis/megadrive itself, not a problem with the monitor. Properly set the H/V size/POS to hide it. Issue there is you will likely want to pick certain systems to hook to the monitor with similar horizontal positions, since most input sources vary a bit.

There should be an applicable service manual here:

It's a Panasonic with an integrated VHS player. You can set endpoints on a tape and actually have sections of video loop. I think it was used at trade shows.

Yeah, I stopped actively looking awhile ago, but friends still send me links when they come across them. It's hard for me to say no.

The thrift shops nearby have mini sized ones like that, too bad those are b&w.

Gotta stack'em all! Amazing pick ups. Even the broken units can be stacked one on top of the other to make a high table or standing desk. A little bladerunneresque maybe :D

Indeed I would do the same.

picked up a 20l1 and a 14n6a for 50, the 20l1 doesnt have rgb which is strange i was under the assumption that all larger pvms had rgb.
doesnt matter because for 50 it was worth it for the 14 inch. i really have to get around to posting photos of my horde.

Nice for unmodded composite only consoles. Make some photos, it may have a good comb filter.

I still look, but I haven't seen one for sale in my area for some time now. Maybe I'm not searching for the right terms? Either that or people just snap them up quicker than I can find them. :)
