Hey guys, I was just wondering what you all thought about this '89 Taito game. I noticed a store in town has it, and I'm interested in buying it from them (I hope they aren't just renting it...I've been told that so many times :( ), and since none of the people working there knows how much it's worth most likely, I'll just plop down $100 for the whole she-bang, most likely.

So anyways, what do you guys think of Crime City? I'm a big Taito fan, and hope this won't disappoint me.

And hey, have any of you guys had any luck just going up to a random store, saying "Hey, I'll buy that arcade cab from you!" and gotten away with it :D I know it's a long shot, but hell, might as well try or you'll never know.

The game based off the popularity of the old miami vice TV show. The main characters in the game look just like TUB ang RIGG ( whatever their names where ) from the TV show. The game is nothing special, just cop and robbers side scrolling shot the bad game. But a little entertaining at best. The pcb by itself is only worth $20. If they give it to you for a $100 you can at least say you picked up a cab cheap

Crime City is fucking awesome. Yes it's short, but it's fun and has some really hilarious moments. The fact that you can kill enemies by rolling into them leads to some rather amusing moments if you try killing as many enemies as possible just with rolling instead of firing bullets.

I'm actually working on a Crime City "review" for my silly website, but I've barely started. I'll probably shamelessly bump this topic once it's done. ;)

Yes, it's obvious that the characters Tony Gibson and Raymond Brody were loosely based on the Mel Gibson / Danny Glover duo of Lethal Weapon. But did you know that Tony and Raymond are the same guys driving the car in Chase HQ and Special Criminal Investigation, too?

Dude if you can pick that up for $100 go for it. That's one of the uprights on my "Hit List" right now, but I have others that take superiority over that one. Funny thing is I had never seen CRIME CITY until like two years ago at a truck stop down here outside of SATX on the way to Houston. I wanted to buy it then but didn't bother to ask... now that Truckstop (actually it was a roadside Dairy Queen/Gas Station) is gone. :(

It's nothing super great but a fun title. As BBH already mentioned it's starring the guys from Chase H.Q. S.C.I. and Super Chase: Criminal Termination, which the last one was horrid. I prefer to think of CRIME CITY as the "out of the Porsche 911" Part III to Chase H.Q. myself.

Damn, thanks for all the impressions guys, but when I went there yesterday, it was gone :( In its place was Strider, and after playing the arcade version of it for the first time...I realized the PS1 version isn't even a perfect port of it, just the Genesis version (more or less).

bah, stupid Big Lots, not like anyone there plays the old arcade machines over there. Ah well.
