Copper Storm, a shoot 'em up made by Neofid Studio (DaemonClaw), is planned to be coming for the Neo Geo. It is also planned for the SNES and Genesis.
Because it is NeofiD studio’s? I don’t know.Does that say Mega 16-Dit?
DIT?
Yeah, I got a little nervous everytime a game got ported to other systems but usually they were shite compared to the OG. Then there were some OGs that were shite compared to some top-tier 16bit releases.Guys neo geo games were cool because they were ported to worse systems, to have a shit game ported to the neo geo what the fuck.
We'll get a chance to see how well they do with DoA, since it's getting an enhanced 2P port for the Neo this Christmas.NeoFid's earlier game, Demons of Asteborg, was pretty decent on the MD. The difficulty was a bit on the extreme side, but the presentation was excellent. With a bit of refinement in the difficulty curve, it could have been something great.
I dare say they could produce a pretty competent shmup for the MD if the right ingredients are there - but I agree with others, I don't want to see a MD game ported to the Neo, it should be the other way around.
Uhh... Thanks, i guess?lmbo 'Copper' Storm because the character is a ginger. CopperCab!
I want to thank KGRAMR for having the sense to not call this a Neo-Geo game. It's just another Xeno Crisis, a Genesis game getting ported to other old systems.
That's the curse for sharing the same CPU as the Mega Drive, Amiga, and Atari Jaguar funnily enough.NeoFid's earlier game, Demons of Asteborg, was pretty decent on the MD. Well, in the sense that the M68K on the Jaguar reads the controller but some devs used it over the other chips to run the whole game back in the day. There is absolutely no connection![]()

Agreed. I wanted to love Asteborg, but couldn't get very far in my casual play session, so I wasn't hooked.Demons of Asteborg was a big technical achievement and had the title of the meg-heaviest MD cart with 117 mbit/15MB, then Astebros topped it off with 118 mbit. They used a custom mapper to overcome the usual 32Mbit limit of the Genny.
Asteborg looks amazing, plays very nice and has great sound but it's not only too difficult but also wilfully obscure in some parts, specially the boss fights. I mean, no prob with difficult games, practise makes masters, but this is more like trolling-level diff.
Rogue-lite, or whatever they call these games. I've come to the conclusion that it's no genre for me. Maybe I've missed something here.
I tried hard to like it coz it plays so well, would have been great if the game had a less crazy diff and unpredictability, and maybe a story that unfolds in a more organic way instead of having to sit through dialogues filled with super funny little gags and references that don't add anything to the story or atmosphere as a whole.Agreed.
