I think those are waaayyyy overpriced for what you're getting, personally. They look nice, but you can get more bang for your buck.

They are not consolised systems. They are superguns with a built-in MVS board. No Test, Service or Coin buttons feature. They are crude IMO, but people seem to be fooled by the pretty exterior.

1 slot seems rather expensive at $500 and the 2 slot is okay at $450 (I look at it as ~$110-$120 for mobo, $30 for UniBIOS, $200 for basic SuperGun. So basically $100 for costs & labor and to make it look pretty). The latter isn't that bad of a deal if aesthetics and consolization are important to you.

Only downside is that you have to get the PSU by yourself ($20) and you have to pay for the shipping also (Should bring the total order up to ~$500).

The Phantom has issues in some games and it's a real tight fit in both ends... I built my own consolized 2-slot and I'm happy with it :chimp: . Of course it's not as good as the professional ones out there but it does the job, it was much cheaper and I had a lot of fun building it.

I asked NeoStarSystems to build me a 1-slot. The guy told me he was in the middle of putting it together, then I never heard anything from him again.

Isn't the NeoStarSystems guy a member of these boards? I remember seeing the same pics of his consolized 2 slot on here few months ago.

Yeah, it was Neo Si and yeah he's a member of the forums. We exchanged emails and PMs about building a system for me. After he told me my system was coming along nicely, I never heard from him again.

Afternoon all,

Completely missed this thread. Yes, those are my systems, glad you like them.

Basically, March was the shittest month of my life ever. We'll leave it at that. Everyone will recieve a PM/email today updating them on the status of their systems.

On a brighter note, the first batch of systems went out ok. I have my mini 2slot completed, and I'm just wiring up the first CPS2 atm.

Cheers

Si

On the one slots, they should really do the stereo mod. A neo in mono is blasphemy.

Agreed about Ben Heck, his work is the nicest out there for a consolized MVS. If you want to buy one, he is the guy to go to. Making your own is alot of fun too though, and really isn't all that hard if you don't mind reading/posting in the tech support forums. :D There is no better way to impress geek friends than telling them that you "built" your Neo system yourself...
