Considering switching from NGCD to NG proper

You'd be surprised they actually made a similar IDE mod for 3do and that has no where near the cult status of the neo geo. I dont even see the point of a 3do mod like this because theres few if any must place games on the 3do, but thats a debate for another thread.

I'm aware of the 3do mod, but in the US I'm sure the 3do sold way more than the Neo Geo CD. Even back in the day I don't think I was aware that the Neo CD was a thing. It also had a much longer lifespan than the Neo CD.

Only Neo CD game that could be argued as "definitive" over the MVS counterpart would be Neo Turf Masters for the extra course.

Those are nice add-ons and worth owning, but I wouldn't consider them definitive. There are some missing things on MS1 and some voices are missing on MS2 IIRC. Loading times are fine on MS1, but worse on MS2 with the in-stage loads.

With MVS boards and carts at a relatively sane price it wont be hard to switch
Most games seem reasonable I guess but prices are rising.
