I thought my 350GB cap sucked. A whole terabyte sounds down right amazing to me.

Yeah I'm pretty sure I'm at 350 too, and I think 1tb would be nice but I don't believe I get anywhere near that high yet, but I also don't stream 4K vids so maybe that's why?

Haven't paid Comcast a cent in 4+ years now. Feels good.

I'll get by with 10GB of mobile hotspot data until Google decides to bring Fiber to Pittsburgh.

The data cap is aimed solely at those who cut the cord but kept internet. I cut the cord and typically do in the 500-600 range and that is doing steady streaming on 2 devices from 6-11pm most nights. It's hard to hit 1tb. Can it be done sure it can.

These caps strictly bide time for Providers to work on alternate packages that will bring people back to their service.

^ This.

They are surely seeing a decline in cable tv subscribers (I don't have cable, nor do most people I know my age) so will need to make up for it elsewhere.

It's just another corporate hand in your pocket - not much you can but lube up and get comfortable.

I think I've mentioned this before, but my bro St. Petersburg Russia pays less than 10 dollars a month for high speed Internet. And that's not some stolen Internet it's because there is tons of competition.

If fucking Russia can do that there no reason why that shouldn't be the case in the West. Time to start fucking fires

If this 1tb limit is to get the people who have dropped the cable... than why do I still get a 1tb limit? I still pay for their cable package. I know, I am not anywhere close to the limit, but why don I get shafted too? Just found out about this today through email.

Im gonna go in there next week and see if I can cancel my cable service. Probably gonna switch to att internet.

I have no idea how many jiggabytes I use a month. How do you find out?
It's convoluted, but it's still available through xfinity when you log into your account. Took some navigating to get to something remotely close to what I was looking for.

Please dont fuck me over frontier...
I'm about to go to Century Link for fiber in a bit, but I think that has a cap on it as well...not sure how big of a cap there is, but I know that there's an unlimited option for roughly what Xfuckity would charge for cable.

If you're that in need of not having a cap just sign up for a business class package. You likely don't need a 50-75 meg connection. Tone it back to a 25meg and get the business class package and pay the same but have no cap.

Yup. I dropped cable TV because they were taking channels away from my tier and adding more sports and news channels that I couldn't care less for. My internet bill has jumped $5, but whatever. I'm still ok with it.

Currently on MetroPCS. Wife has an "Unlimited" plan, unlimited calls, text, data and 10gb mobile hotspot. My plan is unlimited calls and text and 5gb of data whether hotspot or on the phone.

If we go over the limits it is just throttled, no charges, which is obviously important for what we are trying to do. And we pay $101/mo total for the two lines.

It isn't for everyone because there are obvious limitations and speed considerations, and MetroPCS uses TMobile's network which while it is improving can leave something to be desired.

I could probably get two lines with limited data on both a bit cheaper but everytime I tried to even get basic service from Comcast it was at least 60/mo and that was years ago.

I finally got sick of having to call them every six months to try to negotiate reasonable rates and told them to shut it off.

So now we have this setup for our limited home internet use and an antenna with an ota recorder for tv.
