the 5 minutes mizuguchi spent playing it at the ubisoft conference yesterday made me a believer. looks awesome.

All I needed to hear is that you can play the game with a normal controller, sold! The presentation of him playing it looked like it would be amazing to play with a giant TV and surround sound system, but I'm not dropping the bones on Natal. I'll just play it with my normal controller and pretend I'm waving my hands around to shoot everything.

I'll reserve judgment until it comes out. The trailer only looked like it showed about ten seconds of game play footage. I thought the most disappointing thing was the music, and I hope it is not representative of the game's soundtrack.

I think Mizuguchi is a genius and I am confident this game will turn out well.

Looks great from the second video. I agree that the first video doesn't give enough info, but I didn't have the knee jerk reaction of not being excited about it.

This is the only game I've seen that remotely interests me in Kinect, though I'd probably just prefer to use a controller. I wonder if difficulty is the same wether you're playing with a conventional controller or Kinect?

Knee-jerk reactions of disgust and contempt for something that SHOULD by all means be awesome make Buro's clitoris tingle.

edit: Just watched the second video and its exactly what I thought the game was going to be like from the first trailer.

Me too. The more I think about it, the more I wonder if I won't get a Kinect just for this... We'll see. Maybe I'll grab the bundle with the slim 360. I dunno.

Had it on pre-order since early May. This is my allowance of one new game for the month. It was this or Duke. I think it's pretty clear which one is more significant. Duke can wait.

So, do we have to have a Kinect to play it, or will it work without one as well?

The game has supported normal controllers since it was announced. Kinect/Move are optional.

@nruva: Why is some of the most knowledgeable and passionate gamers are confused by this? How would the casual purchaser ever not be confused, then, if even for the amount of time it would normally take to see the item, evaluate it, and purchase it - which would be too late.

It's one thing when grandma doesn't know you can't put Nintendo tapes in the Genesis, but this is ridiculous on behalf of the marketers.

Everything I've been led to believe on the title is that it is first-and-foremost a Kinect title. I had heard that there would be support for normal pads, but seeing the new videos really negates that line of thinking. They should definitely stress that Kinect is optional (maybe even say they recommend it) for play, because as is I don't think a lot of people are going to realize they don't need a Kinect to play this.

They're not going to stress it since they're trying to push kinect on people. But, they've told everyone enough times that it supports regular controllers that there shouldn't be any confusion by now. It's even on their official website and the wiki page in plain sight.

haha no, just really surprised.

Well, you know... It's hard to keep on top of this stuff these days. I don't spend as much time playing games as I did, and I spend even less reading about them. Casual gamer syndrome, I guess.

Music sounds pretty good.
Looks like a game worth owning a console for.

Honestly what pisses me off is this game doesnt have stereospopic 3d. Like motion controls plus 3d would truly make this experince totally emersive.
