I know its generally ignored or frowned upon here, but can a Mod PM me about legitimately changing my username to something else? I'm tired of having the name of an existing design company as my internet moniker. Thx.

I asked probably about a dozen times and never had it changed. So I just made a new one, and after a few months of using it, it was merged with my old account. You may want to try that, and if they don't, well, the only thing that really changes is your join date and post count. Although, I do miss my trader feedback that was lost in the merge.

i notice a couple of mods have had their name changed so i dont see why regular members shouldnt be given the chance too

i personally dont want to change mine and i know ppl say why not just get a new account but some ppl have tons of trader ratings and dont really want to open a new account and lose that and i dont really see any harm in it

Better than logging into the forums stupid, which you've shown isn't a problem for you every day.

Stale jokes for the win!

A certain 'EvilWasabi' lost the 'Evil' and it sorta just happened.

I think that name changes should be allowed at least ONCE per member. I have had this stupid, lame and pithy name since 2000, when I was brand new to the 'scene' so to speak.

I think my user name is dumbass and it was all about eBay anyway. I should be able to change it.

Just because I sold my Neo in '97 and jonesed for it a few years later shouldn't mean I should be stuck with a name that implies I am some sort of merchant or something. I haven't bought an actual NEO cart for 3 or 4 years.

I know it's futile, but since it's legit I'll type it anyway.

Hasn't Merc changed his name like about 6 times.

I liked his Grizzly Bear one - I thought he was gay :(

What is he nowadays? - When will he change it again.

that was Grizzly King, which had nothing to do with homosexuals. That was something a few fags brought up [who apparently knew of some fag publication having to do with the term "Grizzly"], but like my previous name changes they weren't name changes... each time I started from zero with a new account. Only after the whole GK drama did Wasabi agree to just switch my GK nick to my first original account of Stormrider_2977, which I wouldn't mind being able to change, but I'm not about to start from scratch again with the post counts, nor have some ridiculous 2006 join date when I've been here since May of 2002. Thus when you look at it, all he (Wasabi) did was reactivate my first account and later merged all of my posts from all the different accounts I'd had and had the Mods close out.

This time I'd just consolidate with my "Mike Shagohod" persona and call it a day, but threads like this (and that name change) isn't going to happen I'm sure.

:chimp: (homage to kernow - I myself hardly ever use this smiley. it is not becoming of one such as myself).

neobuyer - I actually think your name transcends the meaning. I think it's cool personally.

Well, who among us wouldn't like an opportunity to snuggle with the merc/megadrive/grizzly king chap, the guy's a mountain of huggableness.

... unless he insists on wearing his forkpuncher around his neck ouch!

This thread has become certified comedy gold. :lolz:

I'd shake the dude's hand, but as far as cuddling/spooning with the guy.. I'd pass.

ahaha

ok, some points -
I didn't exactly just change my name. I lost my initial account in a merge. Then I made a new one, and ate the posts of various banned members to recoup my losses. Nefarious, yeah, but no one really seemed to care.

GD? Ghost Dog was a cool name. GD is like how I refer to my GrandDad.

Buro Destruct is a cool name

I don't really think people have changed their names for the better. Oftentimes, the best names are the first ones.

Historically, we went from Stormrider, to Merc to GrizzlyKing and I know Merc was a good name, but Grizzly king was a mistake.

We had Caris Nautilus, which totally fit, then Drift King, and now DashK, and yeah all the names are funny and all, but like DashK is soulless as far as names go.

:crying:

I just hated being associated with a film, I'm not sure why. I like the film in question, but basing a username off of it was kind of an "in the moment" thing that I regretted for years.

And everyone shortened it to "GD" anyway, so I've been using that tag for years on the PSO forums. I've always hated choosing usernames.. it's so difficult to pick something that defines who you are in a word..

I wouldn't mind being just 'Joe' or something.

I think I'm the most recognizable one around here now that McCabe doesn't post much anymore.

Then again, I don't really care that much.

I'm somewhat content with my lame-ass forum handle.

You forgot about Megadrive... ;)

Quite some members have had their names shortened (like BIG) and I think everybody is cool with that. I also remember the drama with squarehater. Changing names can be confusing for the rest of the people if such feature is abused.

Personally I'd drop the "Jacu" part on mine but I don't really care.
