I have never heard of anyone making the NeoGeo CD faster or turning it into a NeoGeo CDZ but is it possible?
If so does anyone know how it can be done?
ie; just replacing the cd speed?

that modification would be more expensive than buying 2 CDZ's.
the CDZ is not really a 2x system, but rather has more cache and uses some tricks to decrease loading times. just adding a faster drive wouldn't make any difference, as the hardware would still only access it at 1x.

I recently got one CDZ unit for $200 so i dont think it's worth the hassle to try to convert one old CD.. Try to find one cheap CDZ instead.

thanks, I"ll just put up with the loads I guess. Or I'll just buy the cartridge form. Whatever, I need more carts anyway.
