I really dislike how with all these modern metroidvanias they don’t scale everything up for today’s big ass TVs. Instead they just zoom out so everything is tiny.

I’m sure this will have excellent gameplay but it doesn’t look like Castlevania.

I really dislike how with all these modern metroidvanias they don’t scale everything up for today’s big ass TVs. Instead they just zoom out so everything is tiny.

I’m sure this will have excellent gameplay but it doesn’t look like Castlevania.

The GBA and DS games look great on modern displays when scaled correctly. Not really feeling the art on this new entry but I'll wait and see.

That was a dungeon based on Castlevania within Dead Cells.

This is a full blown Castlevania game done by the Dead Cells devs and, apparently, a sequel to Castlevania III.

Yeah that was announced a few years back but LRG did get caught selling cdrs of D for the 3DO and that's probably why they haven't done a reprint of dracula-x.

ACK-SHUYALLY, the game takes place 23-24 years after Castlevania III OR the Netflix animated series OR a weird hybrid mix of the two.

The man holding the letter is Trevor. The letter itself is likely being read to the audience in the voice of the person that authored it or Trevor himself. The girl standing in front of him is either:

• One of his two daughters (animated series timeline)
• A daughter as yet unintroduced into the canon (video games)
• Sonia (a retcon to bring the character into canon in a way that aligns with the established video game continuity)

Or it's some kind of amalgamation of multiple interpretations of the series or something completely new. The scar on the man's face, over his eye, is in the same place as Trevor's from the animated series. The trailer is also awash in red hues, which is representative of the animated series as well. This doesn't definitely PROVE it's Trevor but the scar is a big hint IMO.

So this is either a follow up to the animated series, which Konami likely believes is the best way to attract new fans that have been introduced to Castlevania via Netflix, or it is pretending to be one while also being an entry in the game timeline.
