It has been said time and time again, and I'm starting to believe it:

This is not the same SNK. It stopped once they totally ended support for the original Neo. They're now committed to milking the old stuff in compilations and virtual arcades while barely putting effort into new software.

Meh. At least we'll have 1998.

I'd say the upcoming, redrawn KOF is their last hurrah

if they manage to get it together for this effort, then I'd say they might have some life in them yet

All of this can be resolved if one just buys the imports. ;)

With the exception of CFC, of course, since one would like to know what the hell is going on. But with a fighting game, why does anyone need the English version? KOF games Japanese plays the exact same way as KOF games in the US. Just mod your systems (or buy boot discs), buy the games without glitches and not have to deal with companies that may get it wrong or not at all.

It be cheaper to buy a Japanese PS2 than purchasing a modded US one. I'm not into soldering, and I don't want to start by f*cking up a perfectly good PS2 trying to learn. I know it's not hard, blaa blaa blaa, I just don't want to do it. And boot discs don't play every japanese game availible, I had a few games that didn't work with Swap Magic so I bought a Japanese PS2 and it was all better. I don't mind importing either, but it would be cheaper to purchase the games if they all got US releases. Also, the Japanese have SNK "Online collections", that you can only play online in Japan. If they brought those games over with Online functionality in America, I would be the happiest ever.

I heard the canadian batch of the game was free from the game crashing bug. Is that true?

And your source?

No, it's not true.

That's not a question. It's speculation and hearsay. And why I asked for a source.

And that post at Nintendo.com's forums is merely speculation as well.

That's not even what you read. It's what you wanted to read.

The problem itself is in New Game +, not the regular game. Making game completion impassable if you have the current English release.

It's not my fault you're stupid.

What's up your ass sama? The guy asked if the rumor was true. Sadly you didn't read the question at the end of the bold letters.

Look at this, SNKP has angered us to the point we are turning against each other. We cannot stand divided, we must all stand together to convince SNKP to start making good games. Actually forget it, SNKP wouldn't know a good game if it circumcised them with a salad shooter.

People on this board were divided a LONG time ago... don't blame SNKP. Although this glitch does make a perfect scapegoat. :smirk:

Hmm, I made a crack on their official response thread, asking if they could fix the Expert Packs being called "EXPART PACKS," and they deleted it, I guess it hit a little too close to home

If you can't answer a question, shut the fuck up. I see no source or facts in your posts.

Oh, and the problem isn't because of New Game+, it's because of the 2nd dialogue with John. You can get the bug to work in your first game.

It seems like this game is getting a, "fixed" release.

My friend stopped by Gamestop 2 days ago and was going to pickup a copy, they didn't have it anymore and said it was coming out May 22nd.

Nothing on SNKP's site about this yet though. :conf:

Mmmmh... game is broken, SNKP is fixing it... not surprising.

Didn't the same thing happened in Zelda: Twilight Princess??? The game had a "progress stoping" bug (somewhat hard to "obtain", though), Nintendo fixed it too.

Not surpirsing at all.

I never encountered it, nor did any of my friends. Everyone I know played it on the Wii, maybe that bug was only exclusive to the GC version (which wouldn't make sense since they are practically the same thing) or it might just really be a bitch to get? Got me.

At least they are fixing the game though, granted its kinda lame if they do not offer a return program for those who bought the game broken.

Nope. The bug was a Wii "exclusive". To get it, you needed to save on the cannon room, when entering it for the first time (when the cannon itself is all messed up).

Yeah.Guess it will hurt to all the people who bought it.

But hey, there's always a (very obscure) chance of it suddenly turning into a "collector's item". :P

Interesting. I think if the company does a recall and gets the games back fixed to the people it will help them credibility wise...but given their track run of not busting out certain games stateside and just milikng.....I dunno. :conf:

:mr_t: I pity them foo's if they dont.

God SNKP has no credit as it is. Isn't there some sort of legal action that can be taken? haha

they are recalling them in about 6 months.
buy the way you get "S" cards in "newgame+" so the glitch stops you from getting all the cards.

P.S. What about age of empires for the DS if you use "save&quit" the game "DIES".
as in "DIE" i mean your cart will no longer work. black screen.
this amazed me i didn't think this was even possible with carts.
i killed 2 or 3 carts caus didn't know about it and found this glitch first hand.
Good thing best buy took them back.
O and there is no recall for age of empires DS if you got the defective game your shit out of luck.
Like Microsoft couldn't eat the loss.

WHAT THE FUCK!!!??? that's a pretty huge glitch to not notice before release. That sucks ass, if I were to play a game that did that, I would be furious.

I've put about 20 hours or so into Age of Empires...guess I've never used save/quit, and this is the first I've heard of the glitch. Got lucky I guess :)

Thanks for the heads up!
