I'm reading in another forum that there's people who have managed to reach floor 10th. They say the game only locks-up when you talk to that 9th floor guy for the second time, so if you only do it once you can continue playing.
However they have a 99.9% chance of being playing the released rom of the game, in a flash cart, I don't know if that makes any difference wit the real cart.

The 22nd level is unofficially known as the kill screen due to an error in the game's programming that starts the clock with far less time than is necessary to complete the stage.

Its basically the last Donkey Kong level by default. If you're playing for high score you actually don't beat the level just previous to this because you can earn more points staying on that level than you can getting killed off on the 22nd.

so what's the verdict? does the game only screw up if you talk to the 9th floor guy twice? i've been fiending for this game...someone with a copy speak up please.

Don't know haven't played into that much and now I don't want to. It's a good game but they didn't fix how easy it is to win if you go first.

Well, I shall see. I got mine after it took an extra day for my regular store to get it. More then likely, I got the glitch. All I know is that the posts on the official SNKP Site are there for this, but are being kept to a minimum. And I was doing well getting my Garou Deck started..

Talk about a super eff up... I'm glad that I never got past the avatar screen before I decided that I was too tired and went to bed.

I'm probably going to defect mine out at work, get my money back and go back to the NGPC version since I never really got far in that anyway...

Between this and not releasing NGBC and KoFXI in American, SNKP = fail.

Dammit! I had really been looking forward to this game, and was pretty pissed off when it snuck into retail like it did. It's a good thing I didn't know about that ahead of time, otherwise I would've been stuck with a bugged up copy.

Let's hope that they do the right (and not the lazy) thing.

Same here. I haven't even tried talking to Jon on the 9th floor yet. Just beat him once and proceeded onwards.

The problem is though, not when you go through the first time, but the second time on "New Game+", when everyone's dialog is automatically their second dialog.

i just checked and its there :crying: also in case anyone else was wondering it freezes in both model DS's

Glitch lock up my game in the first playthrough. I went ahead and tried talking to a John a second time, and it froze without any text even appearing.

It has been said time and time again, and I'm starting to believe it:

This is not the same SNK. It stopped once they totally ended support for the original Neo. They're now committed to milking the old stuff in compilations and virtual arcades while barely putting effort into new software.

Meh. At least we'll have 1998.

Yeah seriously. After playing that it got me thinking "Hey, maybe SNKPlaymore isn't that big a bunch of fuckups after all, this game is really fun".

But then they don't bring it out for US consoles, only giving it a limited English release in arcades (mostly at Tilt's because Sega worked out some deal to send them KoF XI kits that upgrade Final Furlong cabinets)

and of course, now this. Fucking a.

I bet they still wonder why they don't do well with the American market...

I can deal with super-shitty lack of marketing and releases, as long as they produce good games, even if I have to import them... Too bad SNKP's only made like 3 good games since they came into existence... :mad_2:
