Before you read this, I just want you all to know that I do own the Japanese version of this game. My question is this:
Is there a translated version of this game in rom version? If not would any one like to start a project to translate it? Let Me know.
Thanks,
X-caliber

Yeah there is a site that has a translation rom, but it only translates card name, ablities and match menus. Everything else like conversations are still japanese. http://porlavida.free.fr/pro_trek/
When you go to the site its in the middle of the menu to the left. Hope this helps :D

Yeah, what SN K' said. :)

I helped make the translation that you can find at http://www.protrek.com/. What we wanted to do was to make the game playable, so we focused on the card text and the menus. We released that version just before the new year last year (just about a year ago).

I have been considering releasing some sort of devkit to allow other people to translate the game text. I have mentioned this elsewhere in the past, but I haven't had anyone that seemed interested in working on such a project.

Oh, and one note/problem. I have played the translation and have gotten a ways into the game. There is a point that I got to where it locks up. The same save-game file works fine with the original, but on the translation, there's a problem. I haven't debugged this. I have never heard of anyone else complain about the problem which leads me to believe that nobody else plays the translation, and therefore nobody else cares.

Hey, don't get yourself down like that! There are people on here who know of, and want to know about your translation. Including myself. I've played the Japanese version but never really got into it because of the language barrier. I'm downloading your version as I type. I'll play it in my spare time and report any bugs I find.

A big thumbs up for your effort :)

I tried it for a while, but it locked up on early emulators. But later when I tried it on the latest NeoPop it worked good.

The only weird things are some of the card names (like Orochi Iori is like Wild Iori or something, but thats because of space. Nothing really wrong with it.) And alot of the cards abilities have either japanese text or sometimes ??? in them.
So I gave up playing it for a while.

[by the way, I love you Flavor]

I played it for a while, the only reason why I stopped is because I got the real deal. Yeah it works great on NeoPop, really good rom :D

Well I am interested in doing the translation. Flavor, if you want to finish what you helped start let me know. I think it would be something cool to give to all the die hard CFC fans here. Please get back to me so we can discuss this further. Thanks, and if there is anyone else that would like to help with the translation you are more than welcome to join. Talk to you all later,
X-Caliber

I was lucky enough to pick this game up when it first came out, and I managed to get though over 1/2 of the game playing it w/o knowledge of Japanese. The menus are the same as the original, so it's not TOO bad.

I've played the translation quite a bit, but have since been sidetracked by my own projects and a spate of recent purchases including Ghost photo, Party mail and Biomotor Unitron 2 - Hmmm, looking at the list, I think I'll be going back to CFC2EE sooner rather than later!

Cheers

Hey Chris! Quit screwing around playing games! Shouldn't you get back to your NGPC development?

Just kidding. Just wanted to say thanks for the cool homebrew!

Cheers Flavor, I'm trying mate, I really am...

Joust is next on the menu - and I'm hoping to incorporate link mode too which could be interesting. Although my biggest bugbear at the moment is trying to incorporate neotracker toons - not because it's hard to do, but because I have absolutely no musical talent whatsoever... (Although I have managed to bodge some .MOD's into the title screens which'll do for now)

After that? Who knows, I may try a flip-screen RPG style thing after playing Pocket Everquest and just thinking "I could do better"...

Cheers
Chris
