You're right about the Corvair, Kim. Hell, my dad thought it would be a great idea as well as a great time to bring the Corvair back. ;)

I'm all over an IRS Mustang. My Thunderbird has IRS (one of the few American cars that do) and it's tops.

So you'd also take a Cayman S over a 911? Good call. ;)

And I agree, another affordable Porsche isn't a bad idea.

I think half the reason porsches are so damn pricey is the name. Like Ferrari and Lambo half the price is the label

Porsches are relatively cheaper.

And regarding Ferrari, or Lambo or other big Italian car makers, half the car price is actually design/styling.

It's all about passion ;)

Heck even the hardcore Porschephiles are taking the Cayman S over the current 911. It's a no brainer. ;)

Hell yeah. Tradition is finally biting 911 owners in the ass. ;)

Cheaper compared to the big italian names maybe, but Porsches themselves aren't "cheap" per say.

Btw just installed new struts and shock absorbers into my Car ('92 Achieva) It drives so much better turns clean, shrugs off bumps, and all together performs on a much better level. If you're having problems with a bouncy car I can't reccomend doing this enough.

Car Question: Manual Transmissions, Turbos, Superchargers. Can these be found for any car and installed? Is there maybe a universal Turbo or Super Charger for a car? I'm thinking of adding some power to the Achieva and if I can at a reasonable price change it from Auto to Manual, but i dunno what that will set me back

Nice saabaru there. Any mods yet? I've currently slapped on a Blitz SUS high flow short ram intake (won't do much for you right now, but you'll be able to hear your turbo sucking in air and the nice psshh of the BOV), H+S springs (perfect ride height, stiffer than stock). And a Greddy evo cat back, on my 03 wrx. Later it will be a catless uppipe, high flow cat downpipe, STi turbo, etc... 270+hp at the wheels is a concept I can't pass up. :D

I haven't done any mods yet, but I don't plan to until the warranty runs out. :D

As soon as the warranty runs out though, I'll do c/a intake, suspension, and definitely get a better turbo. When my 9-2X gets older I'll be sure to take her to PPIHC. ;)

damn, well i know someone who has a couple of 88's that he might be looking to sell. i wouldn't mind getting a fiero it's just modification of one that would be difficult. i mean the mark VIII is nice too. and i might just go for both of em. have the markVIII as something to make a down payment on from a used dealership and pay off slowly and the fiero as just something to play around with. but what's modifying them like?

hey hey, since when have i been one to know much of anything about japanese cars? you know i see another ricer and go "oh, another japanese turd" hahaha

lots of parts and info on them. They were the donor car for the kitcar market for a decade, and are still real popular. lot's of v8 switches, and turbos. Not a hard car to work on by any means. cheap suspension makes a huge difference. Like a lot of GM cars, it has parts from all sorts of models. Take one for a spin, tons of fun...

Hey nice Mustang. ;)

To answer your original question I used to own a 1995 BMW M3, which I purchased new in 1995, unfortunately I lost it on March 24, 2005 due to a recless driver that rear-ended me. The impact was so severe that it even damaged the car's frame; therefore, it was declared total loss by my insurance company.

The replacement car that I have now is a 2005 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS Sports Wagon. It is nothing compared to my late M3, but it has the WRX's suspension, wheels, and tires from factory, making it fun to drive. And it is very economical with today's gas prices.

Not much can compare to the amazingness of an M3.

Seeing a 650 HP 67 Charger in person is intimidating....the car wasnt even on.

nah what i think is impressive and scary at the same time is the house just a few blocks away from me with a charger superbee, a plymouth GTX, and an old duster they're working on restoring, and of course just outside of the garage is the dodge ram 1500 hemi quad cab. it's like mopar heaven there, kinda rediculous but at the same time pretty awesome.

do they have the Charger Daytona or the Plymouth Superbee? the Daytona is a car that commands some insane amounts of $ to buy now. that would be a cool car to own.

my dad owns a 67 Charger that is in need of a restoration(needs some bodywork and the hardest thing ever to find - the rear taillight). he bought it new in 67. it was one of those factory screw up cars. it had 383 badges and was being sold as such but actually had a 440 under the hood. it makes for a nice stock sleeper car. :)
