"986", "997", "EG" and "FC" are chassis codes, not alternative names for certain cars.

I personally hate when people don't call cars by their chassis designation and instead call them "2nd Gen this" or "4th Gen that".

Hence why it was really lame how the douche who bought my car never called the actual car Civic and constantly referred to it as an EG.

I guess you hate all car magazines then (not including shite like Honda Tuning or anything of that nature).

Also, year numbers make great use as well.

Thread won't let me advance to page 200? (I have it set to 50 posts per page)

Edit: Weird...I just made post 9951...but when I came in it said there was already a post on the 200th page...

Edit #2: Ok who is ghosted...the Unrelated main page shows that this thread has 9952 posts in it...

i dont know if every car can be called by something like that though. for example im pretty sure camaros/firebirds dont have anything like that. theyre all just f-bodies. same with everything from gm afaik.

im sure long tubes and dual exhaust for the caprice would be a waste of money but itd be cool.:emb:

So anything new with anyone's cars? My SHO still needs several maintenance items that I just can't afford right now. Luckily I have a bike so it doesn't get driven too often right now.

New clutch going in next week.

In the truck or civic...

I can't even keep up with what you have. Either a tuner civic or a crazy powerful diesel ram. In any case. If it is the truck, you got something pretty stiff in there for all the power or are you just burning through clutches.

If I were to buy a new car, I'd really like to buy a Smart Fortwo Diesel, but that's not offered in the U.S.

I just don't understand the appeal, I've talked with Nes about this (who may, sadly, actually own one now).

Why not just get a Corolla S and call it a day.

4 passengers>2
trunk>no trunk
subcompact>um what class would the smart be, you can touch the back of the car from the drivers seat

Then again, I really still want a 3rd gen MR2, which has all of 1.9 cu ft of storage space.

I already have a vehicle that can take multiple people, the Saab 9-2X Aero and can carry stuff since it is a wagon.

I would use a Smart Fortwo Diesel more as a city car. I'm single right now and don't see myself getting into a relationship anytime soon. Plus the gas mileage I'd be able to get in a Smart Fortwo Diesel would be insane (~70 mpg) I also hate it when people try to ask me for rides, I'd love to have a two seater just so I can basically tell them to fuck off.

Makes sense I guess.

Mostly I'm just upset that for all you give up you only get a couple more mpg. The diesel may be different I haven't looked (of course it is moot since it is unavailable). But 39-40ish for a good running Corolla vs 41-42 for a Smart? When you're giving up all that space it just doesn't seem worth it to me.

Yeah, I just edited my post, the Smart Fortwo Diesel gets about 71 mpg. :D

Well damn, nevermind then. That makes it more comparable to like a moped. In which case, you get an extra seat and some storage room :emb:

Edit: oh and a roof :p
