my uncle keeps a vette as his daily driver, it's been solid for him so far. he said to me it offers the most bang for the buck as far as fun, driveability, and resale value plus it's just a damn cool car to own.

and personally as far as the new CTSV goes. i am indeed surprised by everything i've read. it looks to be amazing. car excites the hell out of me.

but yeah...350z keeps looking better and better to me.

Your dad would be correct. Even the z06 which wouldn't make a great daily driver is tremendous value for money.

Yesterday I finally got my new suspension in (Vogtland Springs, Koni Shocks), just got chipped as well (revo stage 1). Car should be putting down around 250 hp 300 ft/lb torque.

Pics soon once I get my new wheels on tomorrow!

Great wheels -- it looks a lot better with the new suspension setup, congratulations.

Still... +50HP out of a chip? Yeah right...

well technically its not 50+ h.p....the engine is underrated by VW. Stock pushes around 220 hp (not 200).

I would imagine it's easier to clean the stock wheels.

But they're so ugly.

Yup! I have them set towards the stiffer end of things. The setup actually rides quite nice, I really was surprised at how little the ride quality suffered.

If we need throwbacks, it had better be to painted stock wheels.

There is a 1979 240d for sale down the road, if it weren't an automatic, I'd really want it. A nice deep red with matching red wheel dishes.

personally i love the older american style big bulging shiny hubcaps of way back when. i'd like to see rim companies make old collector car style rims like you mgiht have found on say an oldsmobile 88 from the 50s.

those whitewalls, with the stock color matching on the hubcap, and the kinda set in chrome caps. man i'd love to see that kinda stuff comeback as far as wheel design goes.

I dunno, a car like that would probably be better as an automatic. It'd be the ultimate summer cruiser, late nights, top down, looking 10x better than any twat in a Mustang convertible.

Were those reliable? If so, I probably wouldn't worry about it so much (being automatic that is).

he's talking the 240D which was a four door sedan, he was using the picture of the old SL to show off the stock color rims. 240D is one of the old diesel mercedes.

Yeah, I know that. But I thought he wanted an older SL. My roommate used to own a 240D.

This is what my post was.

Sorry for the mixup, was the only picture I could find of an old MB with the same wheels I was talking about.

I would get an old diesel if it was nice enough and the right price, those things are borderline bulletproof, but since I'm not in need of a car, I'd rather not get an auto.

My friend took this picture the other day at work and I thought it was pretty awesome... The funny thing is, I always thought his Jeep was so small ;) Now I see Minis as giant monsters...

Are they set-up pretty good?

Quick?

and cheap!

When the porsche engine dies, there are a few kits out there to drop a different mill in although right now I'm not sure what the particulars are. I wouldn't use a 914 in any competition but I would have one as a summer fun car.

I'd jump on this but I'm saving to replace my car with what will probably be a TSX.
