Capcom's Naomi IO board, connecting something else?

I understand, especially when it comes to arcade monitors, that there are certain frequency requirements, resolution requirements etc. that need to be met, however seeing the layout it begs the question, what else can you hook up using the IO board?

I have a medium res monitor in my naomi cab, and I was thinking about connecting either my PC or my xbox, or both, provided I had the know-how and tools to get the job done. PC should be the simplest, as all it really would require is setting the refresh rate and resolution accordingly. However the xbox is another story, sync-on-green, etc.

Has anyone else toyed around with the IO board? Obviously I don't want to kill it as its the only one I've got.

Thanks in advance!

Medium rez? normally they are 15k (low) or 31k (high, max rez 640x480) so 24k (med) is unusual.

I should've rephrased myself, it's not a dedicated naomi cab, it's a naomi cab with a medium res monitor in it. (I believe, it's an MK2 conversion with a new medium rez monitor, the MK2 bezel didn't fit around it as the monitor was too big)

Funny. I don't have a Hi Res cab yet, but I was planning on buying a Taito Type X board and just using the Capcom converter. :)

I figure as long as you are using VGA for picture and USB controls, it should probably work out.

Only thing I can think of is if the Capcom converter requires 15k, but I doubt it.

I'm pretty sure the Capcom I/O doesnt' convert 30hz -> 15hz. I think the 30hz mode on the capcom I/O is just a pass thru from the naomi. You need to set the dip switch on the naomi to output low-rez.

Also, I was thinking about writing a little application to accecpt JVS inputs on a PC. I was thinking it would be a fun project to use my Capcom I/O to interface with a PC and plug easily into one of my cabs.

I'll play around and report back...

Hmm? I've hooked my Naomi up to my LCD through JVS/VGA before, there's no difference.
