I can't find this info anywhere on the internet. I have 2 qsound amps comming in the mail, but no transformers. I need to know the input voltages to see if I can adapt my naomi amp to work with it. Any help would be great!

Didn't the Qsound amps run off of a 12v line?

If it runs off of a 12V line, then why is there a transformer?

I want to say its a 16v/5v combo, but i'm not possitive.

It could also be an isolation transformer to prevent any ground hum coming through?

Ah that would make sence. So in theory, if it is a 12v input, tracking down a mis-matched transformer and modding the output molex connector shouldn't be too tough. I'll do more research when I get the QSound boards, hopefuly on saturday.

I got my QSound amps in the mail on Saturday. The power connector is a 3pin molex connector. One of those pins is obviously a ground, what are the other two? If its just a 12v amp, why are there 3 line comming in to the board?

GND, 5 volts and 12 volts I guess

Why not measure it to find out

I dont' have a transformer to power the amps. You can't measure voltage unless its powered...

If this helps, I need to know the voltages for the transformer on the left:

I finally got to the bottom of my QSound dilema today!! It turns out the QSound does indeed run off of a 12v line. Infact, that is all it uses. It works just fine by applying 12vDC to pin 1 or 3 on the input voltage connector. The tricky thing about the amps is they WILL NOT power on unless stereo sound is physically running through them. That little tid-bit of info threw me off.

capcom q-sound amp need a transformer wich can supply 12V with 2,5Amp minimum on first and third pin. No problem for second pin wich is gnd, very important you must have 2,5 amp minimum otherwise you get rumor...
