I've been playing both recently and they play nearly identical. VS is harder to find as most of the listings I've been seeing have copies of VS2 for sale instead. I'm open to either at this point of the price is right.
I know you wanna make sure that when I get my fightstick back up and working that I'll jump in on Fightcade to play ya in the more popular one

yeah, i dont play enough of either,but i believe characters that have air dashes and use flight in their strategy really shine in VS2. But def hmu for some VS and some SvC also, since your stick was messing up the last time we were playing.

They play identical until you use the dark force and the Dark Ability which is unique to VS2 in a funky way.
VS Dark Force grants you the Dark Ability unique to each character, that's about it, nothing else about Dark Force other than being bale to get hit without cutting out the Dark Force time.
VS2 Dark Force is a state of damage in which you can inflict damage without red recoup, in other words each hit drains life dry without a chance for regeneration. Also while in Dark force all your supers have level 3 access, as in stronger supers or ultimate version of them. The Dark Force ability can be activated at any time, no need for Dark Force but it goes away if you're hit so it's key to use it wisely.
2 very different systems and a bit of a difference in the roster.
AJ, you hurted my feelings in VS 'cause I know I'm stronger than our last showdown. Once I get back in the thick of things with VS I'll haunt you for a rematch and show you the true extent of my darkness...the salt river never comes back...

Get Vampire Savior Saturn, an adapter box to run your Saturn JAMMA, and you have all the characters from VS and VS2 in one sh'bang.
There is an EX Options, option screen that lets you enable RGB out, English, and other cool bits of omake.

Its all good dude, we def need to get some more VS in soon. I finally am in my new place and have my fightcade setup up and running. Tried to hyu yesterday for some games. Lets try to get the salt flowing this week

I used Rikuo, Damitri, Morrigan, Victor and alittle jedah. Im not that great, im very casual. Its a fun game and easy to pick up. You should def play it on fightcade or get the darkstalker resurrection on ps3
