BUMP of the Month Poll: January '14

It seems that I have been *ahem* BUMPed to the month of January due to circumstances. I figure due to the late start (again...sigh) that we can run the poll for the first 3-5 days or so.

So without further ado...

Edit: Tyranix brought up in the other thread to maybe play for level this month (instead of score), and use score as a tie breaker. Thoughts?

I voted for KoV. Guardian Heroes is one of my all time favorite games, I really wanted to host it as well during my month, but with the lack of a score, I just couldn't figure out how to play it in a competition environment.

damn. the sound is all jacked on KOV2 on mame, think i'm still on 143, does it work any better with the latest ?

I voted for KoV. Guardian Heroes is one of my all time favorite games, I really wanted to host it as well during my month, but with the lack of a score, I just couldn't figure out how to play it in a competition environment.

I was thinking that in the off chance that it wound up being the winner, we could do some form of combination of stage/xp/level or something similar as a means of competitive comparison. The chances of it coming out on top though...it's certainly looking like KoV 2 is carrying the day. Which brings us to...

I unfortunately do not believe so, cc. PGM has always been really iffy when it comes to emulation. I really hope you're able to get it working fully though, as it is an absolutely fantastic example of what a beat 'em up should be. Something you might try, is running it via Final Burn Alpha...I *think* is has better end state emulation in this regard than MAME.

I've never played vanilla KoV2 on PGM.

I recon KoV 9 Dragons is too different, to match scores against?

I do have KoV2 on PGM2...again, not sure if it's just a graphical buff, or a completely different kettle of fish from PGM1 KoV1.

Yeah man, 9D is a totally different beast. As for the PGM2 version of 2, I honestly have no idea on that one. You should send it to me and I will take a good couple of months to research it and get back to you with an answer
