2. The number of voters for a game equating to the number of participants for the game is unrealistic.

Not sure I follow the logic behind this one. Why should it not be expected that you participate if the game you vote for is selected? The number of participants should be no less than the number of voters for that game. Why vote then?

i think some ppl look at the games as a popularity contest, they [vote] for their favorite of the 3 without any intention of participating, just denoting which one they like the best.

frustrating for sure, but if I don't think I'll be able to participate, I don't vote.

Haha. Let's see.

1. People like voting in polls just to vote (as Mugicha stated above)
2. There's no negative consequence in failing to meet a video game contest obligation amongst a body of relative strangers
3. Real life priorities > online video game forum priorities
4. Score shame
5. Failure to obtain the necessary game

I could go on and on.

Yeah, I can definitely see that happening a lot - no doubt about it.

I think we should make things a little more structured with the voting. For instance...and I'm just throwing this out there....let's have 5 choices to vote on every month and the 2nd and 3rd highest vote getters automatically get carried over to the following month. The person heading up the next month can then add another 3 options of their choosing. This gives games that people obviously like at least one more opportunity to make the cut.

Another idea is instead of the 2nd and 3rd highest vote getters carrying over to the following month we can do it based on percentage. So maybe any game that gets over 30% of the votes get carried over......I don't know.....I'm just shooting some ideas out there to spice things up a bit.

We should definitely reinforce the notion that votes should only be cast if you fully intend on participating.

What do you guys think?

@andsuchisdeath:
Notice I mention that the number of votes SHOULD be at least equal to the number of participants. Obviously I realize something is getting screwed up along the way. I'd just like to figure out a way to help eliminate those things you listed. I don't think it's unrealistic.

I think three more people need to vote for Aliens. :p

---

Naw, all kidding aside, I'm cool with however you guys want to run your respective months.

The only problem I've noticed with too many choices is that it tends to split up the vote (as long as players can only vote for one game to play).

But, if players can vote for as many games as they want to play, then that problem is solved.

The only problem with casting multiple votes (A, and B, and C) on a Ballot is that I don't think the forum Poll format supports it.

So, if you want to do something like that, then the Ballot (Poll) needs to be done via Posting & Editing.

I'm with Mugi, the problem with the last 2 months were the uncommon platforms, which lacked emulation on of top of it. Awesome choices , if you can play them :)

What lack of emulation? It was clearly noted that KoV 2 could be perfectly played via FBA, and KoV7S could be perfectly played via Demul. There was never a lack of emulation. If you don't want to participate, then come out with it and say so. There's no need to invent reasons why you "can't". It's supposed to be about fun, guys. Fuck, you're making it sound like work, now.

And, no, you're not the only one XX. *shrugs* Everyone likes what they like though. It's what makes this interesting.
