oh, I can only think of one game to vote for and its long overdue: Alien vs Predator (CPS2)

Only the guy who racks up the most wins during the year can skit the vote and pic a game for everybody to play, next year.

So, like the SotM club, you need to pick three games (or more if you like) for the guys to vote on. Then we play the winner.

And I'm def. down for some AvP. Heh, I just changed the Battery in my board about four hours ago and I was getting all warm and fuzzy inside..

I actually prefer just having the person in charge for that month pick the game - just to simplify things. I'll put my name down for a month if you guys need.

And yeah, AvP would be awesome!

If that's the way the wind blows, then sure (I guess). I think people do like/enjoy the voting part too...and it does introduce a bit of variety somewhat. Again though, just a voice amongst the majority, so I'll go with whatever seems to be the preferred.

Congrats MJ for soundly defeating all comers for the month of January! We definitely have a clear winner this month

Wow, I hadn't put really any time into this before - very smooth colors. So apparently all 6 characters have different stage 1's, and then from there you have a path to choose. Bosses are much tougher in this one. I'm not even on the board yet, 101,900 is my best after 1 run with each character. Best I can tell there are no stage clear bonuses.

Made stage 2 3x, and died on first boss 3x. I like the availability of health. I prefer this special system (A+B, B+C, A+C) as opposed to the potion/weapon selecting of KoV2. Should be a good month.

Sounds interesting. I only got the game recently so I don't know much about it. Seems we are in for a good month from the way you describe it. I look forward to putting a few runs together tonight.

Ok, El Jefe Grande Magnifico Supremo hasn't started a vote thread yet....

So did we pick a game for him...or are we going to bump Mendel up and let him start a Vote thread (or just pick one instead)...

I say we just pick for El Jefe and go ahead with KoV7S for this month since it seems like a popular choice. We can have Mendel head up AvP for next month if everyone is okay with that.

Liking this quite a bit and getting closer to stage 3.

As a heads up, once you beat the first boss and it prompts you to pick yr next stage, the middle stage is a straight up 2 on 1 boss fight and it's brutal.
The left path (jungle) seems easiest so far, though the flying hawks take some practice to time and attack in the air.

I had a similar score to yours after my first run and had the same issue. Hopefully it's just a case of the scores being too low to get on the board otherwise it's going to be interesting trying to get photographic evidence. 150,000 may be the cut-off...I'll give it another couple of tries tonight.

No idea. I just do what it tells me to do....A+C when it prompts me (I think when the blue bar is full) and then A+B and B+C as it shows up on the screen. I still don't really know wtf I'm doing.

On a side note however, it appears you need at least a whopping 1,400,000 pts to get on the leader board and enter your initials. I put in a good 5 or 6 runs using various characters and the best I was able to get was around 160,000 dying at the stage 2 boss. Seems like you have to practically clear the game to get a chance to enter your name unless the scoring really ramps up as the game progresses. It doesn't show your score as the continue screen pops up so we might have to take everyone on their word....As soon as you die, your score is gone without a trace. Weird.

Also, the A+C thing seems to make it so you don't burn up Baraka Spheres when using your supers, so you can infinite spam them while it's active.

Edit 2: Maybe an idea to get around the score poofing thing? Go into the bios and add a life to the normal amount and then stop playing when you get down to that extra life so you have time to take a pic?

Captured by giving myself an extra life as noted above

Interestingly enough, 'Chapter 3' in this playthrough was just a single screen with a bunch of killer plants that ate (?) some little cat/beast thing. I beat down on the plants, rescued the beasty (it turned into a points item to pick up), and that was the end of the Chapter. Cue end-of-stage score boost, and moving on to Chapter 4 (something about Goblins) that then proceeded to smack me down like an under-the-stairs-abused-stepchild. Good times

Nice. The extra life thing is a good idea. I think that's the only way around it unless we all get good enough to enter our initials at some point. Seems that the scoring does ramp up a bit after the second boss so it may be achievable.

I'm liking the game so far. I see a few familiar faces from KoV2 in terms of the enemies. It's nice that we can finally get some English text to help understand what's going on too.
