I can't believe Fury is just 30. He's 30 going on 40. He seems so weathered, tempered

In a couple months he will probably forget basic math and when he's 36 he will have alzheimerrs

What did you make of this fight? I thought it was grand. Even though I believe Castaňo won overall, he did get his arse handed to him a few times in a very significant way.

I don't think there will be a rematch, it wouldn't serve Charlo's overall plans.

Great fight, Castano got robbed though.

I wonder where Wilder goes from here.

Fury has to fight the winner of Whyte vs Wallin, then hopefully he gets the Usyk vs Joshua 2 winner for all the belts.

Maybe Wilder can finally fight Joshua after Usyk beats him again. The winner of a Wilder vs Joshua fight would be in good position to challenge the Usyk vs Fury winner for the undisputed title.

Of course mandatory challengers are gonna throw wrenches into this eventually. I think punk ass Charles Martin is due an IBF title shot soon; Joe Joyce I think is the next WBO challenger, while the WBA is still an unclear mess but I think possibly Trevor Bryan?

The WBA and WBO can usually be persuaded to put off a mandatory to allow bigger fights but the IBF doesn't fuck around.

Scary stuff. Former WBO strawweight and WBO interim light flyweight world champion Moises Flores went down hard in his fight on ESPN+ yesterday. I was watching live and was worried he might die right there in the ring. Story says his health is improving but he's not totally out of the woods yet. Get well soon, champ.

It's pretty bad that this fight got made at all. Flores had been retired for three years, and in his final five fights before retirement he went 1-4 with 3 KO losses, including 2 straight KO losses to end his career the first time.

He was 24-2-1 through April 2016 with the losses and draws coming against champions Juan Hernandez and Donnie Nietes. He had four wins over other world champion opponents plus the aforementioned draw with Nietes. Some of his notable losses included great champions like Chocolatito, Kosei Tanaka, and Daigo Higa. He is now 25-7-1 with 5 KO losses.

And they pulled this former champion out of retirement to feed him to an undefeated prospect, trying to use his name to get the kid some attention. But they nearly got the old guy killed. Shameful stuff, and his corner should've pulled him out about two rounds before the KO.

Also I didn't mention the absolutely stunning loss that Mikey Garcia took yesterday to Spanish journeyman Sandor Martin. I had legitimately never heard of Martin before the fight was announced, and his record shows that his best previous win was over fringe lightweight contender Anthony Yigit.

Mikey was a great four division world champion but Martin beat him pillar to post yesterday. After the fight Mikey said he had thought he was winning a close fight, but it was a 7 rounds to 3 kind of affair. Garcia never seemed to get out of first gear.

And on the undercard, WBO light flyweight champion Elwin Soto got beat for his belt against an unheralded Puerto Rican named Jonathan Gonzalez. Gonzalez had been knocked out in his two previous fights against world champion opposition, but he comprehensively outboxed Soto last night.

Even more shockingly, neither guy ended up getting robbed on the scorecards. Mikey was a 10 to 1 favorite and the odds on the Soto fight were so long sportsbooks weren't even taking bets on it.

Just watched some highlights of that Garcia fight. He's not the same boxer as some 5 years ago. Out of shape and ineffective.
His rival was surprisingly up to the task, but I bet he's just a flash in the pan. He will have a good career from now on, but I bet he's about touching the roof in terms of what he can accomplish.

Dillian Whyte faking a shoulder injury to get out of the Otto Wallin fight on the 30th. Whyte is probably hoping the WBC will order Fury to defend against him when he's "healthy"

I hope the WBC calls his bluff and makes him reschedule the Wallin fight. Whyte has been trying to politic his way to a belt instead of winning it in the ring for years, ducking eliminators and even unified title shots all the while complaining about being mistreated. I hope he has to fight Wallin and gets beaten and never gets his title shot. Nobody who has behaved the way Whyte has should be rewarded. He's what is wrong with boxing.

Jamel Herring is defending a world title against Shakur Stevenson. Should be a good scrap. Muhammad Ali's grandson and Evander Holyfield's son are both on the undercard.

James was gonna lose anyway but he didn't seem hurt when the fight was stopped. Just tired. It was a weak stoppage for a supposed world title fight.

And now Ugas is gonna have to fight Stanionis and then Butaev instead of going straight to a three belt unification with Errol Spence. Worthless fights.

Yeah I will concede, the ref was acting erracting all through the fight, it was a dumb stoppage. I like Butaev but it's just a matter of time before he get's busted up by someone better. If he had greater firepower he would be set, as it stands he's a middle of the road competent fighter with good stamina and cuts the ring well

I don't think making Butaev fight Ugas (assuming Ugas beats Stanionis, which he will) does anyone any favors. It delays Ugas from his unification with Spence and it exposes Butaev to a top end fighter too soon.

The WBA should order Butaev to fight Stanionis instead. That would be a good fight. Then the winner could be the mandatory for the winner of Spence vs Ugas.

Next week the Canelo fight, hope it's good. I predict stoppage by tko in the 6th, Canelo takes it. Plant is no pushover though. Seems to have good fundamentals but more importantly (maybe) a solid frame of mind and poise.

Plant's biggest asset is his handspeed, but I don't think he has the gas tank to hang with Canelo for 12 rounds.

Good luck with the bet, seems reasonable.
Yeah it's hard to envision some type of upset.
I do think that one day he will meet his match, hopefully whilst he is still in his prime.

I would have liked to have seen a slightly younger fresher Golovkin go up against a prime Canelo. Would have been 5 de Mayo up in that ring.

The Mayweather Canelo fight was really interesting to watch, 2 very distinct well represented styles, Canelo looked limited by contrast

Canelo was young and Golovkin beat him once. Canelo is a completey different fighter now. Much more experienced.

Not saying he would beat Floyd in his prime but he would put up a much better fight for sure. He is a much more confident fighter. His defense and power is much improved.
