If that were anybody else cut like that in there, they would have stopped that fight. Fury is extremely lucky he was the A side fighting a prospect.

If Wallin got cut like that, or if Fury got cut like that against Wilder or Ruiz, they would stop that fight.

50 stitches for Fury.

Not good. That eye is going to split right open again next fight.

The IBO is sanctioning GGG vs Derevyanchenko for their vacant belt.

So the fight is now for the vacant IBF and IBO middleweight championships.

The current middleweight scene

lineal: Canelo
Ring: Canelo
WBA (Super): Canelo
WBA (Regular): Murata
WBC: Charlo
IBF: Vacant
WBO: Andrade
IBO: Vacant

Canelo is moving up two weight classes to fight Kovalev for the WBO light heavyweight title in November. He claims he will return to middleweight afterwards, but not to fight GGG. I don't know about all that.

Hopefully GGG goes after Charlo, Andrade, or Murata after he knocks out Derevyanchenko. Just keep collecting belts until Canelo agrees to fight again or vacates his remaining titles.

I see GGG winning decisively against Derevyanchenko, but will be surprised if it doesn't go to the score cards

After breaking the ribs during the fight, Keith Thurman has now had hand surgery as a result of an injury suffered during the Pacquiao fight.

So he's out for the rest of 2019. But damn. In there with a broken hand and multiple broken ribs, still trading bombs with Pacquiao in the 12th. Tough bastard.

Spence vs Porter tomorrow night. IBF/WBC unification.

Predictions?

Should be a great fight.

Looks like I was quite wrong.
Round 4 and Porter is rocking it
Edit: Spence is winning from where I'm sitting but Porter set the tone the first few rounds
Edit: scrappy fight, not great. Spence is just too classy for Porter, but I wonder if he could take one of those wild shots if it hit the mark.
Spence has this so far, 7th round
Edit: I'm a bit stoned so don't mind me. Porter looks so danferous at times. But I see Spence as having landed the prettiest shots.
Fuck though, some of those Porter shots landing in slow motion look like a door slamming on Spence's face full force
Edit: Scrappy fight but pretty great after all. Not best of the year material bjt good enough.
Round 11
Edit: End of fight, Spence won. Waiting for score xards

Fantastic fight.

Spence will defend his unified WBC/IBF titles against former champion Danny Garcia.

Then, hopefully, unification with Pacquiao.

I agree, a very enjoyable fight.
Porter deserves a rematch after a fight like that, but he probably won't get it.

The way I see the welterweights:
1. Terence Crawford (WBO)
2. Manny Pacquiao (WBA)
3. Errol Spence (IBF/WBC)
4. Keith Thurman
5. Shawn Porter
6. Danny Garcia
7. Yordenis Ugas

Pacquiao is free for a fight since Spence is fighting Garcia. I would imagine Pac either tries to coax Floyd out of retirement again or takes the Ugas fight.

Thurman is still in a hand cast so he's probably out until the middle of next year. But he has wins against Porter and Garcia.

Everybody on the list is PBC except Crawford.

I don't think anybody tries to fight Crawford until the PBC side has one fighter with three belts.

Ugas deserves another shot against somebody soon. Many feel he got robbed against Porter last time out, then Porter turned in that performance against Spence.

Golovkin vs Derevyanchenko for the IBF/IBO middleweight title is two fights away. Hoping for a good one.

GGG barely scraped by.

I had it 6 rounds to 6, but with the knockdown GGG barely gets the nod.

He looked old, and like he didn't like the body work.

Still has an iron chin though.

I thought D'chenko did just enough to take it. The mileage on Golovkin is beginning to show now.

Not sure what to make of Eddie Hearn saying that GGG was quite ill coming into this fight.

He looked a little ill for sure. Really enjoyed the fight

Golovkin was apparently pretty sick.

He also said that he would absolutely do a rematch if he can't get a unification fight next, so that's cool. I'd watch that one again, Golovkin not sick and hopefully Derevyanchenko without the big cut.

Updated middleweight title scene
lineal: Canelo
Ring: Canelo
WBA (Super): Canelo
WBA (Regular): Murata
WBC: Charlo
IBF: Golovkin
WBO: Andrade
IBO: Golovkin

Derevyanchenko will need a while to heal from that cut. Rematch probably isn't next.

Golovkin obviously wants Canelo next. He's not getting any younger. But there's no telling what Canelo will do after the Kovalev fight, win or lose.

If not Canelo, Golovkin should try to get Murata next. They could do Tokyo Dome and it would be huge, and being WBA (Regular) champion would mean Canelo would eventually be ordered to fight him or vacate the WBA (Super) championship.

Ideally Charlo fights Andrade to unify the WBC/WBO.

Then maybe the Murata/GGG winner vs that winner, Derevyanchenko, or Canelo next.

Just read that Errol Spence Jr. was seriously injured in a Ferrari crash in Dallas. Apparently the car is completely destroyed after having flipped multiple times. Spence was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the car. He was rushed to hospital and is in ICU.

Hoping he pulls through.

He is expected to survive but they haven't said how serious his injuries are otherwise or whether he's expected to continue boxing.
