That's great news.

I wish I could compel myself to finish up all the DLC and achievements.

Some of it is so damn annoying.

That's hilarious that you have an insane gamerscore and haven't 100% Borderlands.

I sat down last summer and got them all and it was definitely a pain in the ass. That's probably why I haven't played it since. I hope they don't have retarded shit like that in Borderlands 2.

I'm fucking all over this sequel, regardless. I can't wait.

Well I somehow fucked up the achievement where you increase inventory slots. No idea how that happened but I am missing one of the packs that would have given it to me.

Some of the DLC achievements are just fucking dumb though...Underdome being a prime example. I was up to level 20 on one of the Underdome arenas grinding away for the achievement. Goddamn fucking game froze up on the 4th wave of that final level. I haven't touched it since because it was ready to break the disc in half. It takes 3 hours to do one of those arenas. I hate most of the DLC is because it's too much grinding.

EDIT: I also never even hit level 50. It feels like it takes forever to get there. I'm somewhere in the 40's last time I looked.

Underdome is really retarded. I spent one night grinding that with a buddy and we'd take shots after each boss fight, and he'd have to take a shot if he ever got put in the penalty box (he was level 10 and I was 61 or whatever). There are way too many waves for how repetitive it got. I hope they fix that in the next game, if they go that route - either make it shorter, or change it up more.

I actually was grinding that with another controller plugged in.

You can load it up with a level 1 or 2 character as the main profile and just play by yourself. All the enemies subsequently are low levels so it makes it easy to kill them.

But like you said it is so repetitive so it kind of doesn't even matter...by round 13 or 14 I was ready to fall asleep.

That's probably one of the worst effects of Gears of War...once they introduced the Horde mode, it felt like way too many games tried to copy it when there is absolutely no point to it.

Oh and the Zombie Island of Dr. Ned...for as fun as it is, the scavenger hunt for zombie brains takes fucking forever too. I was actually debating going back to Borderlands, but just talking about all of this stuff has irritated me enough that I won't do it lol.

I played through the first game multiple times. It quickly climbed up my all-time favorites list (see sig). I preordered the sequel immediately after it was announced late last year. Very excited.

i hear there's going to be a Tegra 3 release. So that means it'll be on the Transformer Prime and probably the iPad 3. Wonder how that'll work out(control-wise).

I passed on the first one for some reason (don't shoot me). Several of my friends picked up the GOTY edition and loved it so I'm going to have to check this out I think. Now time to go download that SSX demo...

My friends and i slowly played through all the DLC together. We would only play when at least 3/4 of us were around and had time.
It only took slightly over a year.

I found myself just mulling over the character classes this morning.

Just giving some thought to which one I might start with first.

Axton - Commando
Special - Auto turret
Skill Trees
Guerilla - Direct Combat
Gunpowder - Ranged Combat
Suvival - Defensive

Maya - Siren
Special - Phasetrap
Skill Trees
Harmony - Squad Assist
Motion - Suvivability
Cataclysm - Elemental Offense

Salvador - Gunzerker
Special - Dual Wield any weapons
Skill Trees
Rampage - Dual Wield Bonus
Brawn - Tank
Gun Lust - Weapon Specialist

Zer0 - Assassin
Special - Flash Escape
Skill Trees
Cunning - Group Crit Bonus
Sniping - Crit Specialization
Bloodshed - Melee/Ranged Hybrid

??? - Mechromancer
Special - ???
Skill Trees
???
???
???

I find myself leaning towards the assassin, Zer0. The skill tree for sniping combined with Zer0's ability to escape if he's surrounded sounds like it'd be right up my alley. I played the siren in Borderlands 1 and I appreciated the ability to disappear and reposition myself if the shit hit the fan. And as long as there're sniper rifles w/o scopes that were made for close combat...yeah, Zer0's my guy.

i loved the Turret in the first game though

probably going to stick with the Commando as my first character on this as well

edit: have i mentioned how unimaginably pumped i am to play this?

the only game coming out that i seriously can't wait to play

E3 has revealed more on some of the characters skill trees, but I can't be bothered to throw up that info just yet.

I've been thinking more on some of the core gameplay changes/improvements in Borderlands 2.

-More enemies types.
-More weapon variety.
-More player to player character quips when in a party (a la Left 4 Dead)
-Improved enemy AI. More than just kamikaze and hang back types.
-Improved item cards. Item cards should now reveal all stats and bonuses. Some were hidden in BL1.
-Each weapon manufacturer will have their own unique build style for each weapon type.
-Eridium is now a rare currency. Used to either purchase top-flight weapons, or give temporary buffs to the player.
-Improved menu system. Skills, inventory, trading, etc.

It all sounds great, although it's the improved item cards that stand out. In the PC version of Borderlands the item cards could be modified to show up to six (maybe more?) lines of bonuses that came with any particular weapon or item. However, on the console version (for whatever reason) the item cards are limited to showing only four lines of item bonuses. So if you played the PS3 or 360 version of BL1 and wondered why one weapon (showing four lines of almost-similar bonuses) was somehow worth considerably more than another similar to it. Chances are there was a fifth bonus, or even a sixth bonus, on the item and there was no way to tell what they were.

I'm really glad that'll be fixed.

I hope they have somebody overpowered like Mordecai in the game. Shit was too easy to just throw your bird and have it kill everything on screen. If anything was lucky enough to live, a couple bullets from whatever overpowered gun you had finished them off in seconds. That, and I love sitting back and sniping bitches in a group while everybody else zerged a base.
