I believe Andy is focused solely on his ninja training, and perhaps he sees Mai as a test of his focus (certainly, any man who can "keep it down" when there's a woman who looks like Mai is around must be "one with the universe" as Chris Farley put it in Beverly Hills Ninja).

As for Terry, I think he sees her as more of a "business" partner than as a "life" partner. They both seem to be into the whole "beating up punks" racket.

Yuri and Robert--I think that maybe Robert is "keeping his options open" and doesn't want to take the risk of having to "make an honest woman" of Yuri.
