like, full 120v? What pin type does it use? This is news to me :)

On first glance it looks like the traces just follow up from the 12 pin socket right below it.

edit: whoops, you said pin type not pinout. It almost looks like the sun PSU socket...

Confirmed! 120 over CN13. I've been on the fence about it but I'm really going to get a sun PSU now.

That is sweet to know. I had avoided using my SUN PSU because I didn't want to hack up the inside wiring just to put in a plug to plug in my PSU. Knowing there is a 3-pin AMPUP that is providing straight 120 V power I can just plug it in directly. This is great news. Now I just need to confirm my Blast PSU is acting properly and fix my monitor and I will be ready for some Naomi goodness.

Okay, I actually tried this tonight since I have a Sun power supply and some 3 pin AMP connectors (removed from a previous cab). And it works 100%.
I ran it in my Blast City, connecting the Sun power supply to the CN13. The wiring is very straight forward. Only 2 wires. The best part is, no more hacked wires or on/off switch! The Sun power supply turns on when you turn on the Blast City! So if you're running a Naomi 1/2 inside your Blast City, it's best to get a Sun power supply, make this cable, and have a piece of mind that you're not over taxing the Blast City power supply. This is great news and I am pretty happy this worked out!

Sun PSU the same one in the Net City?

I've successfully powered my Blast monitor from my Net City...just looking for confirmation. Thanks!

Yes, the Sun power supply that I used came out from a Net City.

I have one net city with a Sun PSU, and I have another one that has a lindbergh PSU that appears factory. The looms are a bit different for the power but other than that the cabs are about the same (same monitor, etc).

For those with the Raspberry PI connected to their Naomi to run games on, I suggest you also add a cable from Lemony Vengence that connected the power from the Raspberry PI to the Naomi mobo. The Raspberry Pi boots faster than the net dimm, so you will have an all in one solution without the need for plugging in any AC outlet. I tested it tonight and it works great!

Talking about power, how many people in the USA are using a step down converter from 120v to 100v? I know the cabinet runs of the 120v, but I worry a little about the extra wear it may put on the components. Looks like I can buy a 500w converter for around 46 bucks shipped, may do it for peace of mind...

I always use 100v stepdowns. NANAO monitors (at least the 3 I have) all say 100v on them, and I'm most concerned with protecting those.

I use these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000PC4JL4/ref=ox_ya_os_product

To be clear I'm not saying you will damage your monitor without a stepdown, however, for me $40 is pretty cheap peace of mind.

Yeah that is the same thing I was thinking. Who knows what it does over the long term, i would rather not worry about it.

If you actually monitor an outlet in your home for a couple of days depending on peak usage hours you will see it vary from 95v to 130v.

Unless it is something with a heating element in it, it really shouldn't be an issue. That said if $40 makes ya rest easy then go for it. I've never used a 100v stepdown on Japanese cabinets.

I'm putting these pics/story here, because this is the most active spot for monitor/chassis/cab gurus.

I'm running one of these:
7uvyrysa.jpg

in my Windy II.

Two days ago, the monitor went in 'double vision' mode (rolling picture, w/ image doubled), and shut off. Upon power cycling the cab-screen is solid black.

Today, it powers on/works as normal...for now. This thing has never worked more than a few weeks in a row, since it met Roger. 0_o

I've noticed these traces of goo around the cab...some in front:

...some in the rear:
abysanah.jpg

(That 'stripe' down the middle of the neck/c-rings is a stain, like cola was spilled on it).

Here is a 3 shot sequence of the cab 1) running, 2) a 'smudge' shot close up, to try and illustrate the moisture/goo, and 3) an extreme close up of the liquid (pre gooing) in the bottom seam of the monitor.

Liquid+electricity make me scare.

Halp!!
