sounds like a loose connection with the monitor remote board. or maybe the remote board pots. just check those connections and jiggle the blue pot.

I was able to take the bezel off and push in the monitor connectors that were behind the bezel and that seems to have resolved the yellow tint issue for now, but just curious, where would the remote board and pots be?

The remote board is the thing mounted in the control panel with the monitor adjustments on it.

I seem to remember someone saying they had extra Blast City IO 8-pin kick connector to CPS2 kick adapters already made up. Anyone got one they would be willing to part with for a decent price?

Alternatively, does anyone have a suitable part number (or digikey/mouser link) for the 8-pin connector on the Blast IO?

I have one ready to go! PM me.

The 8 pin connector is kinda tough to find in amounts lower than 500 :P

Thanks codecrank, I probably would have snagged a few of those but Lemony threw me an alright price on a premade cable. Saves me the hassle of putting one together!

That's what I was thinking, however my pots there don't adjust color. Where was the blue pot codecrank was referring to? Not planning on messing with it right now as the colors seem to be fine but would be good knowledge to have.

Its on the monitor chassis. And they are hard to reach without pulling the monitor out.

Harness 1

Harness 2

Unidentified Nastiness

Going to the store to grab something to start cleaning with and some compressed air, any advice on cleaning products for the plastic? Also if I wanted to touch up some area on the side panels what should i use? I am going to get some All Surface Rustoleum Gloss White for the doors ( at least thats what I read I should use).

EDIT: Also there are some spider web cracks in the black monitor surround, that look like they are under the clear, is there a way to recondition this? Maybe wet sand and clear coat? I tried to take a pic but they werent showing up well.

yikes, that's nasty. You're going to want to wear gloves and maybe a face mask. I hear simple green works great! i used Sal Suds and gold old fashioned elbow grease on mine. Took me a while to super clean it and by that time, I wanted to burn my hands off.

I use simple green or similar. Pretty easy to disassemble the whole CP.

in the CP you have a standard 1player loom

Good news for you is in the cab itself you have the 001 loom which handles Jamma sound or stereo sound :)

Awesome!! I was hoping I would get the 001 Loom, thanks for confirming.

For a good base clean I prefer Simple Green. After you finish scrubbing up with that use a citrus based cleaner for added freshness. If you have the time and space it is always nice to take the cab apart piece by piece ensuring you have access to all the dirty nooks and crannies.

I remember when I first sprayed Simple Green on the inside of my Blast City. It was amazing and disgusting.

I haven't bothered doing any painting as I am pretty satisfied with my cab's condition.

You might be able to get rid of those spider web cracks on the bezel with Novus. Even if that doesn't work, that Novus stuff is a sound investment in sprucing up your cab.

The man to blame lives in Chicago.

I'm back to noob it up. Here's the harness I have. It looks deceptively like the 001 loom pictures I have seen everywhere, but I don't have any RCA jacks on mine, unless they come out until the cabinet is ready to mate. What can I do to fix this? Googling it some people are saying to use a JST to RCA connector?

I was gonna complain, but tucked beside the power supply was a Naomi Gundam kit, complete with everything but the disc. The case, posters, even the stickers all unapplied. So I hung that shit up on the garage wall, and here I am.

If i'm not mistaken, in that last picture, the connector on the far left with the top 4 wires missing; that's where stereo sound is wired. It's one of those two long connectors thats missing a few wires on the top where the 001 loom wires the RCA jacks. Check the wiring diagram in the service manual.

see CN10 http://wiki.arcadeotaku.com/images/b/b9/SegaBlastCityWiring2.jpg where it has jamma sound +/- and audio L/R hookups.

edit: maybe it's CN5 on this one? I'm not at home to check my own cab. http://wiki.arcadeotaku.com/images/b/b1/SegaBlastCityWiring1.jpg

Not having a 001 loom really isn't a huge deal if you don't mind mono sound and you are going to be using JAMMA boards. I use stereo with my CPS2 but I could just as easily use the JAMMA audio if I had your loom.

Thanks for the help, man.
I'll look into it. It's been years since I have butchered wires, but recently I was able to kill a CPS2 board battery with a bad switch, so maybe I can get myself into more hijinks.
