I've tried the microwave, baking it, frying it.

I want flat, crunchy bacon.

Medium low heat in a frying pan. Turn often to avoid burning it.

Put it on a metal baking tray and weigh it down with another tray so the bacon is sandwiched between two trays. Then stick it in the oven. That will come out flat, dunno what the problem with three dimensional bacon is though. :spock:

The best way to get nice crispy bacon though is in a smoking hot frying pan with a tiny bit of oil to stop it sticking. Just press the fat down to sear it though, if you sear the flesh it will burn before the fat has gone crispy.

I use the good ol' George Foreman grill. It fits about four slices of bacon on it and I do about five minutes a side and it comes out nice n' crispy. I only use fake n' bacon in the microwave, it never comes out right when you use fresh bacon. It takes a while using the Foreman, but all the grease gets collected into the tray and you just put it in an old mayo or pickle jar and you got bacon fat for making french fries and potato pancakes. Yum.

Rack that fits into a half sheet pan + half sheet pan + bacon on top + oven.

Grease will drip off the bacon instead of pooling and youll get crispy bacon.

Fry it in a pan.

After it's cooled off, put it in the microwave for about 20 seconds.

There you go.

it's the type of bacon you want.

'real' bacon tastes better, but turkey bacon when cooked in the microwave stays flat and crunchy. it's a minute for each piece you have.

my roommate cooks it in a pan, then adds maple syrup just before it's done.
it's pretty delicious.

Also, if you want flat bacon, you may also want to not buy the stuff they sell in the grocery store.

Its salt water cured instead of smoke cured which is why it curls up like that when you cook it.

Do it in the pan and occasionally drain the excess fat that is pooling up.

Nes's way of doing it is best for a large quantity. I think cooking it in the oven is pretty much standard way to do it for large quantities.

Protip: save that bacon fat if you're a baller.

Cooking the rest of your breakfast meal in bacon fat owns.

Fry in a pan with something heavy on top, flipping every so often to avoid burning. I use a brick wrapped in tin foil when I cook this way, and it works great.

Lagduf is right about the bacon fat. Everything else tastes so much better, and its worth the arteries it'll clog.

I hate leaving raw bacon in my fridge uncooked since it is cured in salt water and not smoked. It has no shelf life.

So I just cook the whole pack in the oven and put it in a gallon ziplock back with a papertowel to soak up any extra grease.

You can then freeze the bacon and have fresh cooked bacon whenever

I only buy bacon before I plan on cooking it and yeah I usually just cook the whole thing.

Didn't know you could freeze the cooked stuff.

Deep fat fry the bacon. You'll have the crispiest bacon possible.

But you'll be dead before the current president leaves the White House, probably.
