Anybody watch Winning Time? Is it any good? The Showtime Lakers are one of only two sports teams I've ever cared about in my life (three, if you count Williams Honda in the mid 1980s), so I'm kind of interested, although I've heard it's wildly inaccurate to real events and the show got cancelled early.

Winning Time got cancelled? That's a shame. The producer of that series wanted to do a show about the 90s Bulls. I may have to catch Winning Time because from the previews, I felt it looked legit.
Reminds me of an old manga I discovered at Mitsuwa Marketeplace called NBA Story. The first volume was a biographical account of the showtime Lakers, the next three volumes focused on the first threepeat Bulls and the fifth volume focused on Barkley and the Suns. I've always found basketball biographies from the 70s, 80s and 90s utterly fascinating.

Caught the first four episodes of Creature Commandos on Max.
It's typical James Gunn rag-tag, found family, comedy superhero stuff. It also highlights the main problem with his new DC universe: continuity. Basically, none of the Snyderverse stuff is canon. Except some of it is, sometimes, when we feel like it. All the stuff from The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker happened, except the random stuff we decide didn't happen. Or something, whatever.
I do like the cast and it's pretty funny. It's just exactly what you picture in your head when you hear James Gunn did a Creature Commandos show.

Except huge chunks of the stuff he made isn't. Peacemaker and The Suicide Squad are full of references to and cameos from actors/characters that are permanently gone. Even with the stuff he made himself he is picking and choosing. Peacemaker season 2 will retcon a ton of season 1.

Dune Prophecy (HBO 2024)
Yet another show about power dynamics.
I didn't like it as much as Foundation (which you all seemed to hate) but was better than that last season of House of the Dragon.
I dunno should have added some more Sci-fi stuff and a few more fight scenes that were better choreographed.
Seems like one and done to me and was only six episodes but I guess they got the green light for a second season a few days ago.
81%, 'Net seems to hate it and gives it around a 70%
