At what point do you feel you've been ripped off online?

I am still waiting for a game that should have been here Thursday. It was sent priority on Monday (last monday) and the guy lives in the same state as me. How long could it possibly take? He says he "can't find" the DC number. At what point do you go "well, this fucker ripped me off"? How long should I wait? Suggestions? And if he did, then what?

I say if nothing else, wait till this Friday, or Saturday, i guess. Reason I say that is because one time, I shipped 2 packages off to the same person, the same day, from the same PO. One was a LARGE box with a neo geo, sticks, and 7 or 8 games, and the other box was MUCH smaller with 2 or 3 games in it.

The box with 2 or 3 games took almost two weeks, via PRIORITY MAIL, (damn PO) to get there, but the large package, took 2 days. This was going from Texas to.. um, wherever TonK lives, I cant remember, i think it's New York. I know it was far away though.

It could be that this guy cant find the DC, that happens sometimes, (or maybe he forgot, and is trying to save face) but I say if the item doesnt show by Fri/Sat, start thinking "ripped"

Okay, I see.... it just makes me so mad to think something may have happened, as I've been ripped off before. I'm sure I'm not a very nice person to deal with when a package gets late. Sorry if you're reading this.... erm, you know who.

If that motherfucker rips you off, just let me know. Since he is in the same state, we can go and crack his jaw open with a sock full of pennies.

start feeling ripped after like 2-3 weeks after they said they "shipped" and they stopping replying to your emails/pms. I'm sure this guy really forgot the DC numbers... I'm hope you get your stuff bro!

Priority mail w/ delivery confirmation can be really frustrating at times. Recently I had sent one package 40 miles via priority mail and it took 6 days to arrive because the carrier wanted a signature on the package and "supposedly" left a notice, so the package just sat at the carrier station. The fact that he can not produce a confirmation number is very sketchy. Here is how I would handle the situation:

Tomorrow morning at 8 am, call 1-800-222-1811 and get the phone number of the your carrier station (it might not be your nearest post office, but the one where your mail carriers depart from).

Ask to be transfered to the head carrier and explain the situation. They should be able to check if there are any packages being held for you at the post office. From my experience, most priority mail gets delayed at the carrier post office. Lastly, make sure you get the name and direct line of the person you spoke to. Give them a few hours to see what is up and then keep calling them. Even if you give them your number, they probably won't call you back--you have to be aggressive on your end.

If they turn up nothing, I think you can make a very strong case against this individual unless they can produce a valid dc#

I paid someone for an ultra Neo three weeks ago. He says it shipped this past Wednesday. He doesn't answer his e-mails and hasn't logged in here for a week. I've requested a DC number twice now. We also live in the same state, so transit time should be minimal. His feedback was solid so I felt safe going in, and I think I've been very patient mostly due to his reputation. But I'm starting to get pissed.

I've sat on packages for a week myself, but only small stuff here and there, and only when I've had a lot going on. If someone pays me a significant amount of cash (like the laserdisc player I just sold for $340), I ship within two days tops.

PayPal is going to get a claim from me soon. I have a pile of Neo carts I've bought over the last two weeks and no system to play them on, even though I paid for the system before any of the games even shipped.

Sorry, had to vent. Good luck with your deal Spike. I feel your pain.

Well, part of me feels like an asshole for being rude with the deal, and the other part thinks "no, I shouldn't" since I've been ripped off online before. I get very defensive, but it's just looking out for myself. I guess I should calm down.

good luck Spike.

Lately I had two dodgy ebay sellers.

One auction I won in early Oct.
He was paypaled within 24 hours.

Game came 3 or so weeks later.

Damn bastard. And he didn't even post me pos. feedback, which only irritated me more.

Another guy, more recently, he waited a week or so before shipping, and didn't even bother to email me and let me know until I had to contact him first. He gave me the "real life" story... which I can understand... still, a 10 second email is all it takes... The game came today though and that's all that matters now.

I feel ripped off when I pay over $300 for something and a month later I still don't have it. That happened to me 2 or 3 years ago when someone from Germany ripped me off on some Neo stuff.
